mac on holidays

Hi,

I will be on holidays monday. So I have to choose some makeup products. It's the more difficult thing I have to do.
I have palettes of e/s (a blue one, a green one, a pink one, a neutral/brown and a purple/black & white one). I think I will take all my palettes.
But I don't know yet. I think I will take my liquidlastliner and few fluidlines and maybe golddusk pig... OOOO it's too hard to choose!

And you: which mac products do you take on holidays?

Thanks for your answers

For me, it depends whereabouts I'm going. I'm UK based so if I'm going somewhere warm I know I won't wear a lot of makeup (plus it could die in the heat!!!) and I try and keep my makeup to a minimum when I'm travelling with it as I know if it dissapeared or got damaged I'd be gutted!

I have a spare pallette for travelling and the odd new shades that I buy so I'd take my pallette, a good e/s base like a shadestick or a paint or perhaps a couple of them, a mascara, a good versatile liner and a couple of lip 'things'! And then the obvious skin care etc...

Looking at it, I'd take kind of a lot but not as much as some people would!!!

I always take the essentuals. And since I get a little nervous about bringing all my pallettes (in fear of eyeshadows getting knocked around during travel and breaking) I rearrange and put all the shadows I'll be using into one or two 15x palettes and just bring those.

Then:
-Prep n Prime skin (OR) Matte creme
-a neutral paint
-concealer
-foundation
-loose powder (sheer OR blot)
-my blush palette
-Black eyeliner in all forms (liquid, fluidline, pencil, kohl)
-mascara
-a neutral lipstick, a pale l/s, a red l/s, a pink l/s, etc etc...
-lip pencils
-instant gold lustreglass or c-thru lipglass
-Pro eyemakeup remover or wipes
-brush cleanser
-all of my brushes

I think it depends on what you've planned to wear on your vacation...

I'm having a little trip next week in Belgium and I still want to take all of my MAC makeup lol, but I will pick up my tones according to my clothes...

PS : Bonnes vacances!

I usually like to pack on the light side and I always end up taking so much stuff I don't even use so I try to pare it down as much as I can.

I take my essential face stuff like foundation, powder, concealer, mascara and an eyeliner, and then I usually pick 1 set of eyeshadows for a night look and 1 set of eyeshadows for a daylook, so I can at least alternate depending on the occasion. Then I take 1 versatile blush, something like Nars Orgasm or MAC Blushbaby.

Then I take 1 nude lip look gloss, and maybe 2 other colours of lipglosses (not a big lipstick fan), and the essential brushes I need. Usually that's 1 face brush, 1 blush brush, and maybe 2-3 eyeshadow brushes.

My hair and body product junk takes up so much room!

I went to the beach for a week and took way too much.
I took stuff to do a full neutral face. I did a full face exactly 2 times:confused:
We were just really laid back and enjoying ourselves so I really should have just done the very basics.

I really surprised myself.

I did the same thing a few years ago when going to London. I did very minimal makeup there. I found that the girls in the area(our friends) were much less made up.
Nobody was going crazy with eyebrow pencil there at the time so I enjoyed simply plucking and combing them.
I could have gotten away with lipstick, mascara, and a good moisturizer. My skin was kicking butt- i think the climate agreed with me or something- my husband jokes that it was the only time my sense of direction was accurate so I wonder if I was meant to have been born on that side of the atlantic

Ultimately, I say travel light. nice clean skin, and a basic wash of eyeshadow a good flexible lippie or two and mascara.and LOTS of moisturizer-for lips too. my skin gets parched from travel.

I would take:
basic brushes(187,224,angle /brow/liner,flat shadow/shader)
moisturizer/spf and or primer
foundation/powder of choice
a creme blush(no brush nessecary)
eye primer of your choice(beige-ingss or bare canvas paint if that is what you use)
engraved powerpoint and or blacktrack fl
a QUAD of nuetral es
fix+ to moisturize whilst travelling
lip balm of choice(tlc? lypsol,etc )
mascara
*** and I love to take Ponds face wipes. for some reason they are very refreshing on the plane. my husband loves them too. I wear lipgloss only while flying and freshen up once I check in somewhere so those are nice and freshly scented and lightly moisturizing.I think a 15 pack are $99 at the drugstore. well worth it.

I'm a bad packer, when we moved from hawaii to seattle we had to pay an extra $100 for my suitcase. Plus I brought 2 traincases on the plane with me. When moving from seattle to austin I brought 4 traincases. For a 3 day trip to my mother in law's I brought 1 train case. I need to learn to pack light!!

i match my makeup with my clothes so in my case i'd arrange the eyeshadow pallettes with colors that i'd use for each outfit.. then i'd take a mascara, black liquid eyeliner and pencil eyeliner, concealer, 1 or 2 brushes max, a blush stick and thats it ^.^ an makeup remover of course~!

here's an idea, why dont you take a palette with a mixture of colours that you like so each color will go with your outfits then when you come back, put the colours back in its original colour made palettes. HTH!
