MAC policy on makeovers?

Hi all! I've been lurking for a while but this is my first actual post. I was hoping someone here could help me with a question regarding policy on tipping or gifts after having a makeover?

My regular MA (at Nordstroms, if that matters) had me scheduled to do my eyes for an event I have this evening which is really important to me. However, she was called in to work yesterday which was to be her scheduled day off, and they switched her free day for today.

After discussing it on the phone, she asked her supervisor and has graciously offered to come in, on her own time, and do my makeup anyway. I would like to know if there is some way I can show gratitude to her? I was thinking of getting a small token gift like a Starbucks card or something, just to show her how much I appreciate her kindness. Is this allowed? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

From what i've read in the past they are not allowed to accept tips but this seems like an exceptional case so to me giving a little gift sounds ok but i don't know the ins and outs of it.

Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. Is difficult because I want to thank her coming in for me, yet balance it so it doesn't get her into trouble at the same time.

well, I know that at my counter tips are graciously appreciated....If I were you I would definately get her a little something...during my time with the company, I have never heard of a policy limiting customers from tipping their artists...I figure that I tip my hairstylist at least 20 bucks every time she does my hair, a little token of appreciation to us as makeup artists are always welcome, especially when you really love what we've done, or in this case, since she is coming in on her day off...she must really like you! (Cause I would only do this for a very, very, VERY small number of my regulars)...hope that helps!

i think it should be allowed for you to give her a little something because she is coming in on her day off... it's not like she's doing it in regular work hours. and a little email to the website might not hurt one bit...
