MAC - Prep + Prime Extension Discussion

Coming soon (either late 2008 or 2009) will be extensions to the Prep + Prime product line.

I know for sure about at least one item. It will be a Prep + Prime powder (though I have no confirmed name for it) that helps set and smooth makeup. It can be used on top of any face makeup and can be used before normal face powder and/or on top. That is all I know so far!

Is this the same as the PRO set powder already out or a different formula ?

This makes me think of MUFE's HD powder. It helps gives a soft focus like Prep+Prime is supposed to. I hope they extend the Prep+Prime face primers to include tinted and colour-correct primers.

Thanks, Bunny

I hope they improve their SPF 50 Prep N Prime ... I've bought it twice and it separates into an oil... BUT I WANT THAT PRODUCT TO WORK SOOOOO BADLY!!!

That powder sounds cool. I wonder how it would work with Mineralize Loose?

Oooh, thanks Bunny for this heads up! I'm really intrigued by this powder, if it's as amazing as the P&P spf!

Really? It's separated on me once in the bottle but I just gave it a good shake and all was well. I find what works best is squirting a bit into a MAC sample jar so you can control usage and the product stays fresher in the bottle. HTH cuz this stuff is amazing! I've only walked out of my house like 5 times without it on my face!

The dr feelgood is not really a primer at all.

Its quite simply a mattifyer in a "pressed" form.
I got a sample of it from there counter and i def prefer the
m.a.c gel mattifier much more.

i find the dr feelgood sets too 'powdery' or even 'rubbery' on the skin and flakes up
and sheds, almost like peeling skin, when applying face products over the top.

But remember, a product only works as good as the skin its going on.....
even a product like this that is somewhat a 'problematic skin corrector'

Although i don't like it too much....it may be the best thing for you if you try it.

Ughh same here. I hate hate hate that! It's like 90% liquid. And shaking it seems to make it worse.
So far, I'm not impressed with the P&P stuff (like the eye one?) so I hope the new products would be better

Thanks Bunny! I knew you'd already have a post about this

. Here's some insider 411 from the Pro-to-Pro link at macpro.com:

There is no compromise with French designers. The makeup we saw on the runways last week proved that for Paris concept and aesthetic is all. Hence barely-there makeup was less predominant than we’ve seen this season. More challenging ideas played the key role. Pushing the collective consciousness of what a makeup “should” be and redefining the parameters of beauty, the resultant looks were radical yet enhancing, rather than obscure for the sake of being edgy: rule-breaking at its very best.

PRODUCT OF THE WEEK
Prep and Prime Powder
Powdered matteness and radiance used to be mutually exclusive. Not so, makeup artists have discovered, with M·A·C’s new Prep and Prime Powder. Imperceptible in texture and colour, it’s been a must-use for taking down sheen without switching off the skin’s inner light. It’s been rare to see another powder called upon all season. From it’s ubiquity at taking down hot spots of shine, to more liberal use at Karl Lagerfeld, McQueen, Kenzo, Giambattista Valli and Chapurin, it’s the must-have product for creating a matteness that’s modern.

Isn't there already a color corrector in the Pro line ? I remember that I saw somthing like that on the Pro website... not sure tho. In small bottles like the face and body mixing medium.
