MAC sends me emails for discounts...

...that I can't use because I live in Canada.

I got a Mac & Milk promo email and it says that I can get free standard shipping with any purchase* And the * says that it's only applicable to US addresses.

Is that annoying to anyone else?

I live in Canada and I've never had a problem with using the discount codes for shipping that MAC sends through e-mail. MAC.ca always honours the codes.

Hmm, that's strange --- why would they say it's only for the US?

I would never bother to try to order anything with that code if the fine print specifically says I won't be able to use the code.

Edit: Durr, I forgot to thank you --- Thanks! I'll try it out.

The MAC codes that I get in my inbox specify that they are for Canadian addresses, so perhaps the OP is on the US mailing list.

Kinda like Verizon sending me offers for their High Speed Internet... that we can't get. Yes - Annoying.

I've just had a look through some of my MAC e-mail and this current promotion for MAC and Milk is the only one that says it's valid for US shipping. All others have said Canadian shipping and all the e-mails come from maccosmetics.com. Me thinks someone at MAC sent us Canadians the wrong version of the e-mail.

I just ordered and used the code "milk" and got free shipping. I am in Canada.

Mine usually do say Canadian, but I've gotten a few (like the MAC & Milk) that have specified US only, so I've never tried to use them.

Before posting this thread, I never considered that it might be an error. Perhaps they are accidentally sending the US email to the Canadian list without editing the footnotes. It's common for companies that operate within the US & Canada to share marketing materials (although they usually edit the materials to apply --- color becomes colour, etc).
