MAC Spin-Off?

I just read an article in the Dallas Morning News about the increasing occurence of spin-offs in the retail world.
Do you all think that MAC should launch a spin-off?
If so, what should the spin-off(s) be like?
I personally would like to see spin-offs featuring products designed for women of color, mature women, and even teens(I wish I'd been introduced to really top-flight cosmetics when I was a teen).
What are everyone else's thoughts?

I don't think MAC should launch a spin off, their orginal product is designed for everyone (i forget the motto or whatever "all ages all races all sexes" or something like that)

but thats just my opinion =)

i personally think spin-offs cheapen the original product, compromise the value of a company, and in most cases, make the company look like tacky, greedy, money-hungry corporate whores. frankly, mac does a great job with their creed (all ages, all races, all sexes...or something to that general effect), as they cater towards all customers. i think just about anyone with any interest in cosmetics could find SOMETHING from MAC that works for them, and by expanding products, i have a feeling we'd see a decrease in quality. people complained about the estee lauder expansion, as there were some clear changes (for the worse, IMO) that were put into effect. i don't imagine any spin-offs would imrpove the situation at all.

When you are at am.a.c. usually you are drawn into the crazy colors like Freshwater and stars n rockets and you forget to look between those colors to all the neutral mattes..etc.
I don't think mac should make a spinoff. Would their spinoff be cheap or good quality?

no spin off pls. I like the way mac is now...trendy and hip. A spin off would cheapen its image..

MAC would never spin off, it would be cosmetic industry suicide. They make enough money without having to cater to tweens and etc. They've already established a name and reputation for themselves, if this ever happens im going to quit my job.

They don't have to, they can do that within collections:
for example:

Tweens/sweetie cake...although I ate this collection up and I am 32-lol

Catherine D-more mature women(even though it was hugely wearable for many.)
etc etc

I mostly agree, as long as MAC is offering enough choices to those of all skintones and ages.
As a smooth-skinned Caucasian, maybe I'm not the best-qualified to offer an opinion on that point.
But from this angle, it looks like most of MAC's collections are geared toward the 20-to 35-year-old fair-skinned Caucasian woman. That doesn't necessarily mean that a spin-off is the answer, of course.
I'd be interested to know what African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, American Indians, and other "non-white" ethnicities think about the selection that MAC offers them.
