hello all ! Not sure if this is correct thread but i NEED HELP !! Ok so i recently purchased MAC SFF in NW 35 ( i was matched that at first) and when i applied it with my 187 the coverage was pretty good and flawless. I unfortunately went to return it because it was too orange on me. Fast forward, I was then matched to NC40 because the MA said that was a better match. However, now i feel like the color is just hard to blend and it doesnt give me the same coverage as the first shade. I feel like this one is too dry and it looks really bad. What can possibly be causing this ? I havent changed the routine (primer , etc) from the first shade to this.. Thanks !

Sometimes it just takes a few ingredients to make the right color and it will change the feel of your foundation. Instead of using a 187, try using a 109 or 168. Softer more dense brushes will give you a more flawless and buffered look than a 187, so It might help you apply your new shade better. The only other thing I can think of is maybe the artist that helped you the first time accidentally rang you up for a different foundation formula. That kind of thing happens all time, I know first hand because I'm a former mac employee. If youre certain that both foundations are really SFF, maybe take your new one back and compare its texture and blendability with the nc40 tester. If it's different, ask to exchange it. If not, try switching your brush that you apply it with.
