Just got back from looking at the Style Black collection, though I couldn't buy anything until tomorrow.
The greasepaint stick - creamy texture and does dry quickly to a flat black finish. Reminds me of a more creamy shadestick in that it's soft and doesn't tug like some of my older shadesticks do. Honestly, though, I'm passing on it. I have tons of black bases I can use already.
The Glimmerglasses - pretty but skipping these. Not enough pigment and I already have BB Black Pearl lip gloss if I want a blackened effect over lipsticks. For those who don't and want something different in the dazzleglass family, I recommend the Blackfire one as I think it's more wearable than the other two.
The lipsticks and mattenes - Black knight is less opaque than the Midnight Media mattene, so if you want truly black lips, I'd go with MM. I really didn't care for Black Knight. It's one of those "Looks great in the tube, not so much on" type of products. Night Violet is gorgeous. I may pick this one up tomorrow when I go back to my counter. I thought it was going to be more purple-violet, but it's actually a beautiful red-base purple and does look like a stain.
The MES - as I said to my MA when she showed me them, "F*ck me gently with a spoon, these are to die for!".
Is there glitter fallout? Yes
Do I care? Hell, no!
If you don't like glitter, than I strongly advise skipping these. However, if you love pretty shiny objects, then be prepared to bring a spoon.
There are several improvements they've made to these MES. One they don't have veining per se, so you don't have to twaffle with a bunch of boxes and annoy your MA to find the one with just the right balance of veining. Two, there is glitter in here, tons of glitter, but it is really, really fine. I'm guessing that the glitter in these is even finer than the Reflects Glitters, which leads to improvement no. 3. They are much smoother than previous MES. There is no discernible chunkiness to these. I'm getting all four of these for that reason, glitter be damned!
and did the Style Black drinking party start early tonight?
mmm...Merlot
