MAC - To The Beach Discussion

I had to call and put Marine Life on hold and MA there said I got the last one. When I got to my MAC counter there were five chicks there asking for Marine Life so I got nervous. I went to cashier and told them I had one on hold and she put it in my hand. I could have sworn I heard the Godly score from above...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I'm hearing there is another place in Jersey who has full stock and I'll be giving them a call tomorrow.

Beach Bronze has made me think about maybe looking for a non shimmery cream bronzer as well. We don't have BB here, but I had the idea that I might see if I can get the effect I want by using a compact foundation in a darker shade.

Going to hold off on the bronzing powders and creams...they will end up in the CCO. I only want the compacts to use for my blot powder. Yep, will wait these out.

Try Nocturnelle, any of darker purples in the Purple Quad from SCF, or even pigments like Grape, Entremauve or Push The Edge, or the dark purple from the Stacked! 1 pigment stacker from SCF. Mystical Mist (LE) e/s would work too.

Sweet and Punchy is prettier than I thought. It is more yellow than Lucky Green when swatched together. Lucky Green is more green... Because I have a yellow undertone, Sweet and Punchy blends right in.


I hauled:

Firecracker. Its not bright at all on me. On my MUA, it was very bright, she is NC20, I am NC50. Why I love it is because its build-able. with a light paintpot its light and with a dark paintpot its more vibrant. you know that smooth veluxe pearl feel, it does not feel that way at all. its a true coral on me. It grew on me, and when i paired it with sweet and punchy, and i think its a unique color to have. after awhile i was sold!

Sweet and Punchy: I surprised myself. I saw it yesterday and did not like it. I saw it today and put some on my lid, and boom! in love. Like I said before, its more yellow, so if blended nice. I like how it looks alone for something quick. I cannot wait to pair this with some of my other shadows.

Flurry of Fun and Funbathing: They need to be on the lips together. Funbathing is bronzy on me, but once I put Flurry of Fun on, its like this light pinkish burgundy with blue. Its amazing. I am going to back up Flurry of Fun. quickly.

Get Away Bronze Blush: Very pretty frost. I swatched it next to light over dark and its a shade lighter minus the mineralize finish. It looks nice with everything else. Pulls the shadows and the lip together, but with out being too much

so i went to my macy's today to get the brushes .... and maybe ML. i got there @ 10.05. i looked at ML & thought this is good as eyeshadow. by 10.15 i got the brushes & 1 ML. there was a lady behind me asked for 5 ML... the MA opened the drawer. this lady saw around 20 ML in that drawer. then she wanted all of it.

the MA said some were pre-order... so she bought 12 ML.

i left the counter right away.

I went to my counter today to pick up my items (Marine Life -- definitely a gorgeous powder! -- and Hipness). I asked my MA if they were sold out of Marine Life and, much to my surprise, she said no!

So if you're in the Greensboro NC area, go to the counter at Belk in the Friendly Center. Leah should be working--she's awesome!

12!!! That pisses me off so much! They shouldn't let her buy so many! for sure she is going to sell them on ebay!

That is insane!!!! And she still wanted more! I'll bet you she is going to several stores, not just one! There's no doubt she wants to sell them!

That is so wrong. I was even a bit annoyed that my counter had put three on hold for someone. I can understand one, maybe even two, but come on.

Ladies, the UPS man just came!
The only thing I got from the collection was Marine Life.
I have no Coral blushers at all, so this is why I wanted it.
I'm nw45-50 for reference, and its so BEAUTIFUL on.
I used a large dense brush to get rid of the gold overspray, because I don't like too much shimmer on my already comination skin in the hot summer.
The actually powder is not glittery at all.
Get your hands on it is you can

I can't wait to also use it as a shadow.

P.S. For the Canadian girls I ordered Tuesday around 7am EST and got it today with no e-mail in regards to my parcel being shipped or confirmation.

Ok finally home and I'll post before I read through all the pages that happened since I was left at 9:30am! I get to the mall and arrive there as my fav MUA is opening the gate. I see the TTB sitting out and a spot in the middle missing and then I see as I get closer that the testers have been used.....UGGGHHH I knew then they had the collection out yesterday! I wished I'd called but I just didnt think of it.

Ashley and the other MUA there told me they were so upset yesterday at Corporate making them put it out early and suggest we all complain to Corporate for them putting all the stuff out early at the FS. They said they had their regular customers that were counting on it coming out today the 27th and they missed out on some stuff. THey called as many customers as they could to let them know if they had their numbers. They said all day long people kept calling asking about Marine Life and they would take order over the phone ONLY if they paid with a CC at that moment. They said it was crazy and all 24 they got in were gone by yesterday.

There was another girl waiting with me too and she also was looking for ML so the nice MUA called Bloomingdales and they set aside the ML for us but then I asked about the Manassas Mall which is closer for me .....the one that I dont like the one girl at and they still had all their ML because they just put out the collection so they put two on hold for me. Oh and they told me Nordstrom was in trouble because all these people had pre-ordered stuff and they sold it all!!

So on to the m/u Ashley did for me. I wanted her to do it just like hers and I'd take a pic but it's 94 here and I've sweated running around in the car back and forth for my test/physical I had to do for the job. She had the prettiest necklace on too and I just have to have it if I can find it. I'll find a pic of it online shortly. So what she did was Vanilla pigment on the 2/3 of my lid then Sand&Sun in my crease and firecracker in the V. She did a winged liner with Float on by then lined my lower lashline with Sweet & Punchy and I love it!!! She used TTB Bronzer which I didnt think I'd like because it was cream but OMG it isnt like a cream at all! It blended like I think I read to a nice powder. She also used Hipness which I wasnt sure I'd like and I do and then ML on top! She lined and filled with the lighter pink liner

sorry I cant recall the name....and then FF over top. I realllllllly love what she did!! Oh I forgot she put Shimmermoss over FOB because she said it does smudge

I asked about B2M but they said they would have to call maybe a district manager..can't remember who to check. Unfortunately I had to go and couldnt wait to hear back so I got Plum dressing for the B2M. So I bought

I sat over an hour for the testing and physical and got to the other mall by like 1:45. I saw when I was walking to the counter the display with guess what??? A big empty spot in the middle. I heard two girls asking about it too as I got there. There was a nice guy there...didnt see that blonde thankfully and I told him there should be two ML's set aside for me and gave him my name. Then he came back and said "im sorry we're sold out.....(then a pause)....but we have yours set aside!". I laughed and said I was about to throw you over the counter!! LOL. When the girl rang me up she said that people asked to buy mine if I didnt show up or wanted to know when I was coming in so they could buy one!

Holy CRAP Batman!!! There are currently 70 (yes you read right...SEVENTY!!!) Marine Life Highlight Powders for sale on Ebay right now!

This frenzy is a bit much...I went to my freestanding store yesterday and they only got 12 in stock. It sold out in like 4 hours and my MA who had mine on hold said that women were in there fighting over it earlier...

That's a total hot mess and it's not that serious.

I do believe some people have made this into their business or side income...I clicked on one seller on ebay and he/she only had 8 tokens (or whatever the feedback is called). Each sale was for some recently highly coveted cosmetic...they had sales for the Alice in Wonderland Box and Ripe Peach and now Marine Life
