Makeup that looks AMAZING in party photos!!

Hi everyone,

I know this question has probably been asked a million times but I just feel like I am on this never- ending, ever-lasting search for make up, especially foundation, that looks gorgeous in photos! I'm nc35 face and darker body (naturally im around nc25-30 but im tanned now)

I have many work events in the evenings where there are always photos. And the same thing happens over and over- my face is always white and pasty because i cant find a great foundation that photographs well. My blush tends to have disappeared too.

It is my birthday in 1 1/2 weeks and Im having a huge party with lots of people and there are going to be lots of photos, and I just want to for once look amazing in them...i feel however tan my face is i always look white, and then my body remains dark and it just looks stupid. I know foundations with no spf are good, but can anyone rec any specific ones, except MUFE as I can't get this brand in the UK. I am using studio tech sometimes but this can come out cakey and pasty too. Im worried to use GA LSF as this is a ''glowy'' foundation and i think after an hour or so in a club, the glow will very quickly turn to looking like im too sweaty/therefore shiney in pics.

Also what can I put on my cheeks for it to show up? My blush never seems to show, is there any ones in particular that do? how about a cream blush/ or shimmer powder, or bronzer??

Im sorry for all the questions but i just want to look so perfect that night (new SO too!) but even though im always using high end stuff its just coming out so crap in photos!!

ANY recs would be so well appreciated

well i'm nc40... I think the most important things are bronzer and highlighter... I use benefit hoola bronzer since it's not orange at all, I can use it in the winter if i'm light handed, and it's perfect. For highlighting I use ysl touche eclat or dior skinflash. for your cheeks.. maybe benetint? I use a lancome cheek and lip stain, it's very similar but was limited edition. I used it today actually, it just gives you a healthy look.

Smashbox has a HD Foundation that might work well for you, since I was going to recommend MUFE's. Generally HD make up photograph's well.

As for blush, you could try the mineralized blushes by MAC. They are very pigmented and gorgeous!

armani is supposed to be good to.i saw a bride use it for her wedding and her pics came out stunning! stay clear of mac. mac is known to leave a white cast in photos becoz of spf.

For blush, I would do a MAC Blushcreme- gives the perfect glow (lilicent might be too light for you- but posey would give a nice pop of color)- oh do you have Maidenchant Blushcreme from Lure? It's sooooo pretty- it'd be the perfect blush for you, IMO!

I just know that any Make Up with SPF in it can make you look pale or pasty in pictures so best is to use a Make Up without added SPF like Macs Studio Tech Foundation.
As for Blush i found out that Frosty or Shimmery Blushes dont really show up on Pictrures so i would use a Matte Blush like Macs Frankly Scarlett Blush or Melba Blush. U can still add a more shimmery Blush on top but atleast the matte color shows up on Pictures.
Hope that helps a little.

Tried and true foundations that look stunning in photos for me are Armani's Luminous Silk and Shaping Designer Cream or Make Up For Ever's Mat Velvet + and Face & Body!

For blush, you can try wearing a cream blush under a powder blush as a base to intensify the color and increase lasting power.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions! Im so worried to use GA LSF as i always think it will look too shiney in pics, but I will definitely give it a try! Also, is the designer shaping foundation really that nice in pics, i tried a sample when it first came out and although i did like it, i remember the reason i didnt buy it was cus it has a high spf??

Any other make up that looks and shows up AMAZING in pics pls pls let me know, im also considering false lashes but I got the mac #7's and they looked too fake on me

I think Sunbasque blush would look amazing on your skin, but be a little heavy handed. Trust me, what seems like a lot in your bathroom mirror will show up just barely in the pictures. I go out a lot and have trouble with my blush appearing non-existent, but when I use a ton it shows up nicely in pics. It takes some getting used to, trust me I felt like a bit of a drag queen leaving the house with so much blush on! But it was worth it for the pics

someone also mentioned Hoola bronzer, and I couldn't agree more. It shows up nicely in pics, and again be sure to put on a little more than you normally would. Flash washes you and your makeup out a lot.

As for foundation, I've always taken great pics using MAC's Face & Body. But if you need a lot of coverage, it may not be the best choice...just my 2 cents.

hey hun im exactly the same, my face always looks paler compared to my body and its so annoying! even if i wear fake tan

as for blush i usually only wear nars orgasm now and in photos it give me a peachy/pink glow with golden shimmer and it seems to last longer than my mac blushes.

I remember a mac make up artist once put full coverage on me with some bronzer and I went to the clubs that night and my skin looked amazing in pictures. But full coverage is pretty heavy and could look light if you get the wrong colour. Hope that helps
*sigh* I miss that MA, she was the best one I encountered but I moved and I didn't even get her name

This isn't a makeup rec but a wierd habit of mine, I actually take pictures of myself with my digital camera and my laptop to see how I look before I go b/c I live alone (well my dad lives with me but he's ZERO help!) so I'm my own second opinion with the digital pics. plus it gives me an idea of how i'm going to look in photos so I can mentally prepare myself for what might happen haha.. (though I usually sneak out of picture frames teehee) . In addition to looking at a mirror b/c I get a different persepective/angle/lighting. Maybe do a test run of your makeup and do that? Then again maybe I'm just slightly narcessistic and like looking at myself when I'm all done up . LOL

I have found that MAC's Studio Tech has decent coverage and does not give that weird glow! I loooove it, myself - I'm on my 4th compact!
