Making colors pop :(

I use bases to make them pop, but I can't pack it enough. Maybe I am using too much pressure, etc...

What do you girls/boys do to pack the colors on to make them pop? I am having the most problems with matte colors. HELP!

Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated!!!

maybe use a damp brush.

I use sharkskin shadestick (blackish) under some of my pigments to really make the colors saturated. Otherwise I use Urban Decay primer & it seems to do a good job.

I use my 242 to dab a little bit of Water Base Mixing Medium to the area. Just make sure you don't soak your lid. Then it'll be spotty.

i never knew to look at the numbers on the brushes & in my experimenting 242 became my favorite brush for packing on the lid and getting that intense look..b4 that brush i would just become a big gray washed out blop

i take my 242 and with downward strokes i pack in on, moving down the lid

dont be afraid to keep going back over the same spot with patting and with pulling the brush downward like making lines on each section of the lid until its all covered

aww im so glad!! i was obsessed with trying to make my colours pop too..i could never do it no matter how hard i tried...i love all the looks on here everyone does & ive been going nuts trying to recreate the looks... so i can totally relate!!

lately though things have just clicked for me and i never thought it'd happen but i finally getting the vibrant look i've been after...u will too

ive also found that when blending, i make sure now i dont blend the colors too much into each other (if u want that look when the crease is a drastically diffrent color than the lid)

if i blend away the color too much, i go over the area again with e/s on 242 brush.. be careful not too blend too much

i use a bit of fix + on a brush (especially with loose e/s and mac pigments!)

Wow you and I have the same problem! I try and recreate looks but often times it comes washed out. I will use your tips and see how they go.
