making my birthday/christmas list

as far as the paints go - I've heard so many great things about them and I'm going to give it a try. I'm looking for a color that I can utilize with any look. I was thinking Bare Canvas or Stilife, or maybe even Chiaroscuro. suggestions? Thanks in advance!
