matte eyeshadows

I have a quick question regarding matte eyeshadows. I only have one at the moment (embark) and was wondering if you wanted a crease or highlight colour would it have to also be matte to blend well with the lid colour? I tried using a VP eyeshadow and blending it into embark, but the results weren't pretty....

Yeah, it would work if it was a shimmery lid shadow blended into matte, but not the other way round.

I agree - the purpose of the crease color is to add some shadow. Shimmery colors would reflect light and do the opposite of what you were trying, if you didnt have any shimmer in the lid color at all.
