McQueen Opinions?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place . . . wasn't sure if this should go under discussion or if it merited a new thread.

Those of you girls who have seen the McQueen shadows . . . I know they seem pretty similar to other permanent / pro shadows out there. Are they worth picking up on their own? I'd like some opinions before I go to pick up my stuff from this collection, since I have a tendency to get to the store and then just decide that I *need* everything. If there are pro/perm shades that match these colors (i.e. haunting looks a lot like aqua), then I'd rather just stick to the perms . . . any thoughts?

Thanks, ya'll.

I haven't viewed them yet but they all are very similiar to permanent colours. I would really like to know if they are chalky and how the pigmentation is. The last few collections, the e/s have been very chalky.

I posted some pics in the swatches forum comparing nile to bang on blue and eyepopping to pagan. Honestly, I would say these colors are unique enough to get on their own. Haunting is a gorgeous shade of aqua and reminds me of pro shade sky blue (or possibly aqua) When pairing haunting with its matching paint pot, the result is really bright and vibrant, and gorgeous!!

I got all the shadows and paint pots for their gorgeousness and their collectability factor.

HTH!

Lol! I do the SAME thing.

I'm wondering also about the paint pots - are they a matte formula or do they have pearl in them like most of the perm paint pots from Painterly? They look pretty matte from the swatches I've seen. I'm trying to decide if I need Electrosky if I have Blue Boy paint?

I was wondering about the texture of the paint pots too. Those are way more tempting to me than the shadows but... must... save for holiday items! But my resistance is crumbling...

The paint pots were very matte from what i saw. I swatched the green and the aqua pots and both were matte. They enhance their sister shadows quite well!

I was told that Haunting looks like Aqua (from the Pro line). I compared it to Turquatic and they are very similar.

The l/s Masque is similar to the LE l/s Bare Venus.

This weekend I will compare the e/l Jealous to Lichen (CD Icon col.)

What about New Vegas? Does this have the same texture as the old MSFs or more like the new MSFs?

Apologies if someone has said this already, but I couldn't find it!

My understanding is that McQueen didn't even use these products, the collection was created after these looks made it to the runway.

So, if you want to achieve his runway looks you can do it with products from the pro and existing lines.

Yesssss get them all! The color payoff with these shadows are amazing and although they seem pretty similar to other products... it's really so different in it's own way. The paint pots are actually a little more matte then the first paint pots that were launched so this will give you all more opportunity to play with new textures. I'm definately picking up some back-ups! :-D

That's odd because that's not what we were told at Update. We even saw a video of it. When the products were used at his show they were still prototypes though. They always use stuff backstage that hasn't come out yet.

Yeah this is true. That's how they get the inspirations to come out with the actual lines for consumers.

The whole line is seriously good fun. I've had a ball using it and I'm normally a strict champagne-beige-neutral sort of girl.

Lara, what are the standouts from the collection, in you opinion?
