I'll be passing on these also. I saw them in person and while the colors are pretty - I just dont "need" them like I "needed" the Finery sets! ha ha!

I went to the counter again today for the second time this week (yes, I do think I need to be stopped) and took a wayyy closer look at these. Fell absolutely in love with Enbronze glitter eye liner as its brownish and what I felt to be most subtle.

I looked hard at Metal-X and the colours are so appealing. I asked this other MA about creasing and (as she was wearing one today) she said she built it up. So did a very light layer with her fingers (b/c with a brush it looked like application was def. not as smooth as your finger that kind of warms it up) and let it dry slightly and then put another light layer. For me, if I put too much of my paint pot on my brush I can crease in like 5 mins and should build in light layers but I was too scared to buy it (here they're $20CDN) and have it crease and somehow not work for me....

but I'd love to hear from ppl who've already bought these if they work well by doing light layers and letting them dry a bit.

.. well I was a sucker and saw them yesterday when I went into mac and I played with them for about an hour or two before I walked out of the store with eight of the nine.

the MA that was talking to me, told me to layer them on (she had 3 of them on since that morning and no creasing) what she told me was to use a light base (paint or paint pot) and then said that it was worth it to try it out and play with them at least a few days to get the feel of them before saying yes or no to them, because they are beautiful and up to date mac hasn't made anything else like these

but because of all the talking and what not and seeing how wonderful they were on her, I'll be playing with them over the next few days , working with the layering and seeing what bases will work if any, and then I'll give them a thumbs up or down, but for now they were to pretty and shiny to pass up.

she also was promoting the sponge brush for these ones saying that it would help when applying.. when I played with both and compared them when applying them the sponge was able to pick up and deposit a lot more color with alot less waste of product (looking like it was falling and flaking off, like it did with the 242) however most of the flakey product had just been pushed into the sponge.

but the effect of the two were different:
when using the sponge you had a heavy effect with a lot of color (I wasn't able to build up thin layers with this brush)
when I used the 242 there was product that flaked off but you were able to build up and layer it or wear it very sheer.

I also wanted to see if I could get a different effect with other brushes so I played with the 217 as well as a other brushes and found that it did take a few layers of building up and buffing it out, but it had a lot less product waste then either of the two that mac put out with this collection, so if you are thinking of playing with them try a brush that isn't as well "hard" as the 242 the more bendable they are the better they apply.

and sorry for writing a short essay as my reply

OK Guys! I was really hesitant to buy the cream eyeshadows b/c of all this talk of creasing. But I couldn't resist them b/c the colors were so beautiful. I bought Metalblu, 6th Sin, Goldspice.

I wanted to play with them myself to see if they would crease on me. I have asian eyes/eyelids, and very oily eyelids. I used UDPP, then painterly paint pot. Yesterday I wore a combination of Goldspice on my inner eyelid, then 6th Sin on my outer lid. I topped off my eyes with some eyeshadow. I work in the medical field (nurse), so yesterday for 8 hours I was running my butt off even sweating. At the end of my 8 hours, my lids and eyeshadows did not crease at all!

The Metal X eyeshadows do have a different finish to them. It is a metallic finish and it sort of accentuates the lines on the eyelids (texture). Its almost to the effect that some matte/mattene lipsticks on me accentuate the lines in my lips. Its the same effect.

Overall, I LOVE the eyeshadows. I think before people totally dismiss them b/c they are supposedly not crease resistant. . . they should at least pick up one and try them out for a few days over several different bases. And heck, if you still don't like them you can return them. I think they are worth the price and the colors are amazing.

I'm gonna try to take a picture of it soon and post it here of my cream eyeshadows after my 8 hour day of work. I did take pictures, but need to find the time to upload them here on the board.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone in the US!

I read that a couple of months ago on Specktra, yes.

Blitzed = Glamourgold
Wonderwhite = Spunsilver
Enbronze = Oxidate
Pewterpink = Saucepot (I think, or is it Shimmerline?)
Lime Dandy = Divine Lime

I see virtually no difference in these new ones and have no idea why they would re-release them under new names. That's sort of deceptive, if you ask me!

The 'new' ones listed with multicolour glitter are the same old ones that had multicolour, as far as I can tell. There are tons of colours MAC hasn't released so I don't know why they didn't come out with brand new colours instead of re-releasing old ones. Kinda sucks.

I checked out the liners today and Wonderwhite, Enbronze and Pewterpink to be just as slowhoney described. The slight difference with the other two is that Blitzed is more yellow whereas Glamourgold is, well, more gold, and Lime Dandy is lighter than Divine Lime, almost (almost) like Aquavert is to Waternymph, but Lime Dandy isn't as pale as Aquavert. Overall the glitter seems to be finer too so perhaps the formula's been improved, meaning easier application.

Still not wowing me enough to get them, tho. =)

The Metal-X shadows, on the other hand... WOW. Absolutely loved Goldspice and Pure Ore, mainly because they're more pigmented than most of the others, which seemed to be on the sheer side. I'd get those two gold ones just for their colours, nevermind the creasing - altho 6th Sin would be amazing to use with Jealous k/p..!!!

i bought plum electric and pink ingot the other day. i haven't really gotten to play with the pink, but i played with the plum the other night and it really didn't crease. i really just applied it to my lid and then smoked it out. anyway, if you build up the color gradually i think it should be fine. i really liked it!

I swatched a few on my hands on Wednesday and the colors are so gorgeous.
Pink Ingot is so beautiful. It went on my hand really sheer and shimmery.

Metalblu.. was so soft (compared to pink ingot) though that I couldn't get it really sheer out of the pot (it was like.. you end up scooping it out). Bleh. Looked like it would crease.. so though the color is pretty... it's not something I would get personally.
6th sin is pretty though, gotta admit.. so is plum electric... (the swatch was so pretty too...)
Fusion gold seems the kind of gold I would wear...
Too bad I fear creasing like the plague. It's hard enough with my oily lids.. creams just won't stay I'm afraid...

But out of all the colors.. I'd probably just get pink ingot. It'd probably make a really pretty blush or lipcolor as well, so many uses for it for sure. I can always find other dupes of gold... that isn't a cream.
I'd probably just pass on the whole collection altogether.

When I went to purchase the Finery lip bags, I picked up Pink Ingot, Plum Electric, Pure Ore, and 6th Sin. I love the consistency of it. I wore the Pink Ingot and Plum Electric today and have no complaints. I really really love the Plum. I think feathering it out is the key, but I'm still learning how to do my eyes as well as all of you.

i am in LOVE!!! i went to check them out at the store and i swatched them all although only 3 had appealed to me at the time: pink ingot, fusion gold, and goldspice. but as i read a few of my fave beauty blogs, i just ordered 3 more online before they sell out: plum electric, metalblu, and of course, 6th sin. i'm already poor but i really don't care because it's MAC!!! =)

ok hopefully someone can read this and help me: for those who have bought the glitter liners with metal x or previous collections--do you use the applicator in the tube or do you guys take your own brush and dip it in (I'm thinking for sanitary purposes)???
