Mickey in pink sparkle overload

Hi girls! Today I decided to use more of my new makeup, specifically some of the pink items! I LOVE pink, but I don't think I look so good in pink eye makeup. It's always too light. But I tried again and got the following result. I tried extra hard to fill in my brows this time. For shadow I used the other two shades in the Milani Mad About Magenta quad, with Milani loose eyeshadow powder in Fairy Dust over it. The lashes were colored with Milani Glitter Glamour Duo in Twilight Pink, which is pink with pink sparkles for a top coat. Oh, and it turns out the "top coat" is actually a glitter liner, so I used it in that way too! I used my new MAC kohl pencil on my eyes too, below the glitter liner on top. For blush, I used more of the Fairy Dust, but in the photos I can see the tiny brush didn't work so well. Couldn't tell that in the mirror, though I do like how it shimmers. I tried a couple lipsticks before settling on this one. First I had on a light pink Sephora one Lyndsey left here, but it was the same color as the shadow, so no. Then I tried my new red, but it clashed so badly. I ended up with the good ol' Wet'n'Wild Megaslicks.

In the end, I'm not as happy as I'd like with this look. I love the lashes, but I think they'd be better with blue eyeshadow, or maybe green. I gotta practice my blush application more, and I like my other darker eyeliner better, though this one doesn't transfer to my lid nearly as much. I'm very pleased with my brows though, and can't wait to use the red lipstick on a look it works with.

I also tried my new Milani Pyramid Passion nail polish today. It's SO bright compared to what I normally wear.

Looks good. I might suggest a black mascara though because I think the pink makes your lashes dissapear into the eyes since it blends so much. Otherwise, great job

I agree with Krasevayadancer. Just use black mascara. Your brows are fierce!!!

yes, true.. what the ladies above me said! The pink eyeshadow creates a nice backdrop for a black mascara. Maybe if you had a different color eyeshadow on, the sparkles would be cool and stand out more. Otherwise, nice work, mate

oh- i also wanted to suggest putting either a lighter pink or champagne color below your brow bone as opposed to the pink all the way up - it would balance out your eye better and make those brows stand out even more!

Yup....I agree with what the ladies suggested in the posts above. Also, the blush should be swept from the cheeks up the cheekbone area. Other than that, you look nice.

I think you look great in pink but I agree, black mascara and maybe a black liner would make your eyes pop even more!

I agree with the other posts. Pink looks great with green eyes. I think black mascara would do wonders as would a black or plum liner. Also, a lighter neutral shade just below your brow.

You said you want to work on blush, have you tried contouring? I use strada/taupe blush to contour my cheeks, forehead, jaw, and nose (or one foundation 1 shade lighter and one 1 shade darker than my norm). You should give it a try sometime. For your cheeks, suck in and make a fish face and find where it indents - that's where the darker contour would go. And you could put some down the sides and tip of your nose to make it look thinner and a highlighter (1 lighter) down the center of your nose. Then put your cheek color (pink in this case) along your cheek bone up to your temples.

and maybe try a peachy color blush or try bronzing instead of having a pink blush. that's a lot of pink!

the pink looks great! you should def. try that pink mascara with some darker e/s, though- that would look so cool. and love the nails! I have something similar to that on as well

ooh i love the lips. if you wanted to keep doing colored lashes instead of just black, i always thought black lashes with color just on the tips looked kind of cool.
