Mineralize skinfinsh + nude lipstick recs

I was hoping you guys could help me out with some colour matching since I don't live near a MAC counter anymore *sob* and my dad's going to the US this wednesday, so I thought I'd let him pick up some stuff for me since MAC is waaay cheaper over there than in Sweden...

I've just discovered the wonders of mineral foundation; I've been using I.D. Bare escentuals and Everyday minerals so far. I'm really curious about the mineralize skinfinish natural and/or mineralize spf 15 foundation from MAC, but I'm unsure which shade to get... I'm NW20 in Studio fix fluid. I've heard that Light medium is quite yellow-ish, which Light and Medium aren't. Do you guys think that Light would be too light for me? And can you use the mineralize skinfinish natural as a foundation if you apply it with a kabuki (#182), or is it better to get the loose foundation and only use the msfn as a powder? I'm also thinkíng about getting my first regular MSF; I mainly want to use it as a highlighter. Should I get petticoat or soft and gentle?

I'm also looking for a nude lipstick. I don't want it to be too yellow, but more of a pinkish flesh tone. Which shade do you think I should get? I've been thinking about Blankety or Myth, which one of these two or any other nude MAC lipstick do you think would suit me best?

Here's a picture of my skintone (I'm wearing sff in NW20 in the picture) + my almost natural lip colour (I'm wearing slicked pink lipgelée in the picture and it doesn't add any colour to my lips, just makes them more shiny!) for reference:

Thanks in advance, any help is greatly appreciated!

I don't know about the skinfinishes, I'm sorry! I'm too pale to use most MAC foundations/powders, and the ones I can wear break me out. Petticoat is a dream to put on. It's the perfect pinkish highlight for the face (IMHO). My coloring's close to yours, but I'm a weird yellow with pink mix

Nude lipstick wise, my favorite now is the Soft Treasure (i think it's called) from the Nude lipstick holiday set. Non-Mac, mine is Totally Nude from Too Faced. It's the perfect nude shade for me. My lips are slightly darker than yours, and the lipstick is pigmented enough to cover up MOST of the natural color but sheer enough to work WITH it, if that makes sense. If not, I can take a picture when I get home, if you'd like.

LOVE the eyeshadow, btw! What colors are you using?

Kiss and makeup: Thanks for the recs! The Too Faced lipstick sounds interesting, I'd love to see a picture if it's not too much trouble

As for the eyeshadow, I think I used MAC dusty coral pigment, MAC pink vivid pigment and MAC vibrant grape eyeshadow, plus MAC brulé eyeshadow to highlight

I have exactly your colors (NW20) and use Min. Skin. Natural in Medium. If you buy it, make sure to confront it with other Mediums: they're hand-made, and sometimes they differ quite a lot (pick the less yellowish). You can use it as an everyday foundation too, this way: swirl your kabuki brush (I use Mac's 182) on it, then spray it with A LITTLE Fix+ and apply it. It will give you a sheer to medium coverage. I like it a lot! But you can use it as a touch-up powder on your fluid foundation as well. As for the nude l/s, I suggest Viva Glam V.

Purity, I am NC 25 and use MSF natural in Light Medium. It is JUST a touch too light for me so I imagine it would be perfect on you. Medium is too dark in the winter for me, and I find going darker with powder has a tendency to muddy up my skin.

As for a highlighter, I have just about every MSF out there (missing just two) and I would say Petticoat would be tricky as a highlighter. It's unpredictable because of the the varying veining in each. I find mine is very bronzey amd actually deposits far too much color for my complexion. I think Soft and Gentle would make a far better highlighter.

Nude lipsticks - Blankety is gorgeous and feels great. Myth has a tendency to settle in those little lip cracks we all have. Blankety doesnt do that at all. Also Myth is similar to having concealer on your lips because it's fleshy whereas Blankety has a pinkier tinge.

I HTH!

My fave nude lippie from MAC is Hue (I'm also NW20). It has a hint of pink to it which makes it work well for me. Myth is amazing on some people; however, on me it totally washes me out.

Also - I am in love with the Adoring Carmine 3 Neutral Lips set in the Holiday collection. I put up swatches in the swatch thread if you want to check them out.

In MSF Natural I am also a Medium.

Another vote for Blankety. I own both it and Myth, and the latter is much more yellow/fleshy. Texture-wise, Blankety wins by a landslide.

Depends how nude you want to go.
Myth will be very pale and its actually one of my fave lipsticks but like others have said... it tends to dry out your lips! if you can get your hands on Fleshpot (pro product) it has the same look to Myth but much better texture even though they are both satins! (weird huh?)

Blankety I find for me its too brown (I love a nude lip) but if I pair with C-Thru lipglass it works for me.

Hue is amazing. Its more on the pink side but if I could only have ONE mac lipstick Hue would be it. Its just gorgeous and even though its a Glaze its honeslty one of the best Glazes I have ever used (which I'm usually not a fan of). It covers my pigmented lips really well .. ah its just perfect.

I didn't forget! I had a couple of things I had to do after I got home, including charging my camera.

For some weird reason, I can NEVER get my pictures to load on here. They're probably way too big, but I don't know how to resize them, and my husband telling me "oh it's easy, it's in the program" *really* isn't the best way, haha!

So a link to the picture. Please forgive the "dewey" face and no makeup. I just washed my face/moisturized for the night. At least I didn't do it with my masque on. That'd have been the sex, oh yeah

The picture's here, small and unscary, but if you need to see it better, go here. I tried to get one of just my lips, but they were all way too blurry. Here's a link to the lipstick.

Thank you so much! That's such a nice thing to say

I'm glad you like the lipstick. I just have a trial size from a Sephora sample, but I'm totally investing in the tube next time I go. It's matte, and it's thick, which I like, but it feels SOO good on the lips! If you want a bit of gloss to it, I find it looks REALLY pretty with Love Nectar by MAC.
