Mixing Paint Pots with Shadows or Pigments

I was just reading the description for Paint Pots on the MAC website. It says:

Quote:
Cream-based, can be mixed with M·A·C shadows and liners.

It made me wonder if anyone has every mixed a shadow or pigment into their paint pot and then applied it? I wonder how Dark Soul pigment would look mixed in with Blaground paint pot.

Ok, that's fine but my original question still stands. Has anyone ever thought to mix another products with them and apply it?

^^ Sounds like a great idea, but I haven't tried it. I think it might work better with pigments.

Never tried it that way and mixing products isn't always a good thing IMO. I would rather lay it over another product.

I wouldn't mix anything with my paint pots especially powders. I reckon it would make the texture way to thick and gunky.

I decided to do a little test this morning. I took a smidgen of Rubenesque and Melon pigment, mixed together, and swatched it on my hand. Then had just Rubenesque paintpot swatched next to it. The melon mixed with the paintpot definitely made it a stronger colour, the look reminded me of metal x. i do caution anyone who will try this as you have to try not to get too much pigment b/c it makes the paintpot harder to spread and thus chunky (again which is why it reminded me of metal-x).

but it doesn't hurt to try! I'll prob just stick to layering it myself, as I'd like to think it helps me not to crease, and in my mind if I mix it, it may crease faster.

I know a makeup artist who mixes paintpot with reflects glitters and says it looks amazing. I haven't tried it yet because I'm afraid that it's not going to do much of anything, but she said it's her favorite thing to do for an easy but spunky (paraphrasing LOL) look.

something fab to do is wear a eyepencil all over your lid and then apply a pigment over it, its gorgeous

ie smolder or minted on eyelid and old gold pressed over.. it gives this gorgeous parrot green colour

Do you see any difference between melon and rubenesque mixed and melon and rubenesque layered? I love layering them, it gives such a pretty boost to both colors
