mixing primer and powder or foundation ?

my studio fix powder broke and i decided to mix some with my smashbox primer ony my hand it and it came out so great , i was wondering if i could use it like that or it defeats the purpose of the primer ? i dont see the difference when i apply the primer first anyways .

I think whatever works for you is what you should do...If it came out fine then go for it. If you don't see the difference then there may not be any.
