Monetary Question..sort of...

Okay...situation:

Person A has ebay account, person B asks person A to buy something off eBay for them. Person A uses their own money because Person B will pay them back. Person B pays Person A money eventually, but item hasn't come yet. Person A gets email saying seller of item is fraudulent and they need to file a claim to get their money back.

Person B wants the money they paid Person A with back immediately but Person A won't get the money from eBay/paypal back for another 30 days or so.

Should Person A pay Person B back immediately or should Person B have to wait until the money comes to Person A from eBay/paypal?

I believe that since B asked A to buy it and it was bought with A's money then B should wait til A is reimbursed before getting his money back. If A hadn't been in the picture then it would be B's money that would have to be waited for for the 30days, therefore B should wait until A has the money back...

I'm sorry if this is confusing at all but I just wanted to keep it anonymous. Lemme Know if you have questions

I think person 'B' should just wait 'till the money comes from PayPal. Person 'A' did a FAVOR. Person 'A' is NOT responsible just because it's their E-bay account. I think it's pretty selfish and uncouth of person 'B' to ask for the money back from person 'A'. That's just my opinion

PS: That's why people should never lend friends money in situations like this

I agree with what was said above. You didn't have to do it, but you did anyway. Let them know next time that they could get an Ebay account and be solely responsible if the money doesn't come in.

I agree with the 2 above me ..Person B, would have to wait 30 days if they had their own ebay account. Its no different.

Yeah um...it's not hard to go online and create an account. Person B didn't pay upfront so they can wait. If it were that serious they would of had the money for the stuff they were buying, or like I said go online and create their own dang on account. People are crazy, I wish somebody would pull some crap like that on me. Shoot, they didn't pay you back right away!

yep - person B should wait until person A gets the money back from ebay/paypal. person A is not responsible for the seller's behaviour... especially if person B picked the seller.

i will not buy an item for someone who doesn't have an ebay account. if they don't want to sign up, then they don't get to buy from ebay. simple, really.

If person B had paid with their own account, they would have to wait the 30 days for a refund. They should not be entitled to special priviledges of an immediate refund due to Person A doing them a favour.

Besides, fraudulent sellers are a risk you take with ebay.
