Mono Challenge- What I looked like when the UPS man arrived

Well, today I was inspired to try to meet the mono challenge. I got all done up with blue and was going to take photos when who should pull up but the UPS MAN!!!!!

Talk about embarrassing.

And then I realized it was June 1st. DUH The challenge was not even sticky anymore!!!

Well, here is that hard work I did anyway. It is just crazy and I had fun doing it. Never went quite this wild before. But wanted to make it look realistic if that is possible in blue.....HAHAHHAA

Wow! Now that's monochromatic!! I see purple though!

Like I wrote on the page- the purple you see is duochromatic blues (like cornflower) which have blue pigment with pink or violetish shimmer.

In real life, no pink or purple shows up at all. In the camera, however, it really picks up the shimmer and makes it look like another color.

That is the magic of using pigments!

Below the brows is blue shimmer, but for some reason, it came out pinky looking in the photo. In real life it just looks like icy blue shimmer.

The lips are navy blue with blue-green shimmer. I put a dash of cornflower on the lower lip.

Makes it look purple in the photo, doesn't it?

(giggle) it sure was fun, I must say, despite the UPS man coming by...

It itches too much to wear it very long though. I could never imagine wearing this out anywhere for extended period of time.

Well, he caught a glimpse of me as I ran hiding and shouted to my daughter to get the door. So she goes to the door and says that "My mother can not come to the door right now because she is blue."

I saw him leave and it looked like he was trying not to grin.

I mean, he can hear every word in the house, as is was still outside and all the windows were open.

Oh my that story is so funny! I love the double entendre of "my mother is blue"...lol (no, not "blue" as in sad, "blue" in the literal sense of the word) I can't wait to tell my bf that one. I also read the one about the scuba gear, gloves, mask, etc. I would have paid $100 to see the UPS driver when he walked out in that!
