More shootings?

that happened a couple of blocks from my work...no one was shot, the kid fired into the ceiling at a water pipe, his gun jammed (it was probably homemade, most are around here), he was arrested and taken out. all the kids in that school went home. they found some possible explosive ingredients in a locker.

that school is probably the worst in town...known for lots of violence. i have subbed there, and it's honestly scary. there were 21 violence reports in the last year. i'm honestly not surprised it happened today, but i'm glad that no one was hurt.

I'm glad no one was hurt. That's ridiculous that the child was allowed to know the combination to the safe. If you're going to own weapons, you shouldn't let your children know.

i think it's ridiculous how many people here own assault weapons, many of which are home-modified. that's so stupid- they say it's just for hunting, but seriously, why do you need an ak-47 replica to hunt deer? I never gave much thought to gun control until I moved to joplin, missouri. and now i'm in favor of VERY STRICT gun control laws.

I think weapons of war are the worst things to come out of the human race. Nothing like spending billions and billions and billions (I wonder how much time/money/effort/brain power/etc has been put into making weapons since the begining) on finding newer and more efficient ways of killing each other.

And of course it spills over into everyday life, only lethal force is a lot easier and more impersonal than it's ever been. I dont think most of the cowards who shoot people or blow them up would have the stomache to use a more personal type of weapon. It's easy to pull a trigger, a child can do that.

They all come in bunches. It's stupid. I can't believe how many copy-cat situations there are.

It's sad that guns have become so readily available, now.
