For anyone who has traveled recently ... Im heading from New Orleans (MSY) To Atlanta ... to Baltimore (BWI) and finally to Italy wont be landing in a intl airport would be landing on a militay base once in Italy. ANyone travel recently with cosmetics in those airports ? or just travel recently. What did you didn't you take on carry on.

I am moving overseas in a few weeks. I am having nightmares of my bags being lost/stolen and losing my stash of beauty products. I have already downsized and gotten rid of my wonderful perfume collection =( /cries ...but it's in good hands with my mom ..Im only keeping two. (coco mademoiselle and britney spears midnight fantasy hehe ) but anyway ... I know I have to pack my lip glosses and liquids in my checked baggage. I know about the 1 quart ziploc with liquids under 3 oz and having the bag easily closed and what not. But what about eyeshadows, pencils, and solid lipsticks. Can I pack those in carry on in a bag/case not in the ziploc bag ? Do you have to declare eyeshdaow, powders, pecnils, lipsticks and such ?

helppppppppp me ...im losing hair over this lol.

I went over to Africa a month ago and I was able to carry all of my makeup as it all was under 3oz - I just didn't use a bag (a little pencil box works for me). I'm going to try to use this as a carryon for my makeup and hair for a trip up to WA this week as there'll be liquids and I won't have to dig. Easy to see for security!

As for packing all it all, I use bubble wrap. The eyeshadows are in palettes, so they've got the most bubble wrap on the inside and out. I would recommend paletting for your trip if you haven't already!

BTW- You only declare items to customs if you BUY them overseas during your trip. If you totaled everything you have you'll be over the customs limit!

Other than that, if your kit is large - do insured shipping and wrap it up.

I *just* came home from leave 2 days ago and I made a stop at BMI for FOURTEEN long hours, anyways I packed alot of my makeup. I had 2 carry-on bags, 1 a backpack with my keys, books, ID's, etc, and the 2nd, a rolling bag that carried solely makeup. I had fluidliners, e/s, the works in there and they didn't search me once. I packed alot of stuff into one large MAC bag and nothing broke. (Thank goodness) My pigments we packed in there own bag as well as brushes. I took a military flight to and from Germany (from a military base) and the military procedures are the same. Good luck in Italy! I wish I was stationed there!
