Well I decided in my infinate wisdom i would try to buy some jazz for my best friend who likes jazz. So I went and listened to some jazz music couldnt figure out what she would like wound up getting her a gift certificate.

So I didnt think I would like jazz. Seriously, I wasn't able to tell you that there were different versions of jazz.

I'd been listening to Jewel and Journey.

So I was flipping through the stations in my car and I heard the most amazing smokey New Orleans type voice on the radio. It was incredible. So I had to listen to the song and then I was in love. I've been listening to Jazz ever since. I have Jazz playing right now on my yahoo messenger! YAY!

I love Billye Holliday and John Coltraine.

What about you? What kind of music do you like and your favorite singer/musician in that genre?

I have no specific genre I stick to!

I like everything from R&B, HipHop to Rock and Pop!

Right now I can't stop listening to Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe" (as you might probably see in my signature)
Their whole album (I have the tour version) is amazing!

I also think John Legend is a great singer ("Ordinary People" and "Used to Love You" are always in my head)

Being a muso-in-training, I like all genres, but do not understand why I am still loving Interpol's 'Antics' album (their second I think). Their wimpy-men lyrics just grabs a spot in my heart! I love it when men are whiny about love, it just makes them sexier.

E.g. 'if time was my vessel, then learning to love might be my way back to sea...'Wah? Touching but verging on being very pansy.

The Libertines' self-titled album is also getting some love. As is Peaches' 'The Teaches of Peaches' album. She's hot.

I mostly like Brit pop/rock, like Blur, Pulp, Radiohead, Oasis, and Kula Shaker, but also stuff like NIN, Tool, A Perfect Circle...and lately I've been listening to INXS an awful lot for no good reason except I like to dance to it when no one's watching.

I like mostly Brit-pop, 80s, punk, hard rock, some metal, but I'll listen to pretty much anything except scat, country, and hard core rap. My 5 year old keeps requesting Franz Ferdinand & the Hives lately, so we've listened to that alot, however I see a Backyardigans CD in my future....When I've gotten to choose this week it's been Depeche Mode (the kids were not feeling the love for DM lol!) and Queens of the Stone Age. DH needs to hurry up & get XM installed so I can listen to radio again. FM sucks my will to live....

Marilyn Manson's cover of "Sweet Dreams" is awesome. Missy's Lose control is a great song. and Operation Ivy "sound system" <3,
I don't like Hawthorne Heights or Blood Brothers but I like the "Nikki FM" and "love rhymes with hideous car wreck" Ciara's songs are great, too! I love 1,2 step and Oh.
