My first foundation

I've been looking into liquid foundation and I need some recommendations. I have oily skin and I am NW 45-47 ( i got matched at a counter) I'm mostly looking to purchase a drugstore foundation, but I am open to Mac too. This will be my first foundation.

Also, I would like something that is medium coverage. Is the loreal true match any good for a first timer? What about Colorstay?

Colorstay is a great everyday foundation. I've also heard very good things about the LOreal true match. I think either one would be great (Colorstay is heavier than the True Match)

I agree! They are both great but have completely different finishes and the textures are different too. Colorstay is harder to blend but will last longer. True match is lighter and blends great onto the skin.

Revlon makes some really good foundations, Colorstay and Photoready come to mind. I prefer Photoready myself, though some people say its too "shimmery", but it produces a nice dewy glow on my skin, without making me oily, which I love. Some other popular drugstore brands are the L'oreal True Match [tons of shades to choose from] and the Maybelline Smooth Mousse, another one of my all-time favorites [though not so great if you're super-dry or super-oily]. Rimmel makes a great long-wearing foundation, the 25 Hour one, that blends nicely and has great coverage, and really does stay on longer than any other drugstore foundation I've tried.

I'm currently using Nars Sheer Glow, which is wonderful, but pricey. I have heard that a really good dupe for it is the Neutrogena Healthy Skin makeup. It's light-medium to medium coverage, but buildable. Very nice for summer.

I hear a lot about loreal colorstay but havent tried it myself, revlon colorstay is a good one but to me its a little heavy. Also try and check out the weekly drugstore sales, sometimes they have 40% off or B1G1 free.
