Hi girls! I'm so sorry for not posting lately- I didn't realize I was so missed. But I had a fun experience Saturday that I felt like sharing. Now, I haven't dressed up for Halloween since 6th grade (I was too scared to dress girly back then). I wanted to for the last few years (as a princess or other femme thing), but have never had the money or occassion to dress up again.
So I had arranged to hang out with my friend Holly on Saturday, and drove to her place to find her and her roommates getting dressed sluttily for the parties we were going to. I hadn't considered that they'd be costume parties, and felt left out and jealous. It turned out the first party was close to my apartment. So after walking a long way in that direction, Holly and I separated from the group and went into my apartment so I could have a "costume" too.
I wore my coral pink Victoria's Secret jeans, sequined pink bolero and belt, metallic pink hobo, 6 inch long dangle earrings and pink rhinestone 3 inch heeled sandals. My makeup was heavy, with purple shadow and bright pink lipgloss. It wasn't skillful at all, since I was drunk when applying it! haha All the items were ones I normally wear, it's just that I normally don't pile so many flashy pink things into a single outfit, since it's a bit much. But I figured it was Halloween. The funny thing is that I was less girly than I often was this summer in some ways - my nails weren't painted, my arms weren't shaved (I've been wearing long sleeved tops lately), my hair wasn't straightened, and I didn't wear false lashes. But I only had 15 minutes to dress up, so I didn't have time for those things.
When Holly and I got to the party, I was a hit! People loved my costume. I got compliments on my purse, earrings and pants. It was so fun being accepted as a girl. I wish every day was Halloween. Then I could dress as girly as I want with no embarrassment or social consequences. I walked FAR longer in my heels than I ever have before, and they ended up hurting my feet a bit. Stupid straps... But I was pretty drunk by the end so I didn't notice it much until today. I WAS happy I could walk well in my heels while drunk though.
It was the best Halloween celebration I've ever had. Being liked as a girl by everyone made me so happy. Hopefully next year I can be a princess or something more costumey. Thanks for reading! I'll try to post more often.
