My MAC Creme Blush wont BLEND!

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some suggestions on how to make my MAC creme blushes blend into my skin better. I moisturize before hand [not heavily though since i do have oilier skin] but I just can't seem to get the colour to blend...and since they are so pigmented, it just ends up in a semi-splotch on my cheek.

I own Lillicent and Laid Back... but Laid Back is ESPECIALLY hard to work with but it's so pretty!

Would love some suggestions

Have you tried using a skunk brush to apply and a kabuki to blend? That's what I do and it looks fine to me. Also, blushcremes aren't really the best IMO. There are way better cream blushes out there and MAC's are more difficult to apply properly compared to my Inglot one and my Stila one.

What brush are you using?

I use the blush for contouring & used to apply with a 168 or 169, Cos the brushes were so dense they picked up a lot of product. I would blot the brush on a tissue before application, Then build up the colour slowly. Then buff out with a 182 if I went over board

Lately I have been using the coastal scents synthetic contour brush, its less dense so picks up less product. I find it easier to work with. It builds a nice colour without being obvious.

no matter what type of skin you have, you need to apply plenty of moisturizer. don't skimp on moisturizer. as long as you use one for oily skin, you won't get oilier if you apply more moisturizer. that'll help these blend better.

i use the #187 to apply blushcreme. gently tap the brush into the blush. start off with a little, cause you can always add more. then tap the brush on your cheeks were you want the color. then tissue off what's left on the brush, and go back and blend what's on your cheeks.

Yep, you definitely need a skunk brush to apply the blushcremes. I use the 188 in the same way erine indicated. You don't need a lot of product & remember less is more because you can always apply more if its not enough to begin with.

I blend mine with the 188 skunk brush and have no trouble blending cream blushes at all, however I don't use MAC's cream blushes because I believe that Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouges are of a far superior quality! And with the pot rouge, I've managed to blend it with my fingers with no troubles whatsoever.

spritz the 188 brush with fix + and then dip into the creme blush, works fabulously! I use fix + with everything

I tried using my 187, but it makes it really hard to blend as well.

Try using a 190 with stippling motions, patting the color on until it's well blended. That's what's worked best for me.

I find with creme blushes that they blend beautifully on bare moisturised skin. If you need foundation coverage, it'll be harder.

I use the 109SH and it works great for me. It is small and the hairs are quite short so it gives me more control than the 187. I agree that less is more and since the brush can pick up too much product I always tap the excess off on my hand. fix+ is also very helpful especially if you use the cream blush on top of a powder product.
It takes a little blending and buffing but I love the way you can build the color with the cream blushes. It looks more natural than powder blush IMO.

I COMPLETELY agree with this! Ive gone through 2 blushcremes in the last year- ADORE them.. it makes my face glow.. DEF use a skunk brush.. spritz fix+ on the brush, blot it on the creame, then blot it on your cheeks.. then you for sure should blot the brush on a tissue to get the excess off- I love how LITTLE of this product I can use and get GREAT color payoff... but the fix+ is a MUST!
