I'm new here, and this is only my second post, lol!

I'm very excited to have found this wonderful forum

. Anyway, on to my dilemma...

I am a stage performer. A rock musician to be exact.

And I'm having a hard time finding a blush that:
#1: Is the right color
#2: Can be built up to being nearly opaque! (for stage, remember?!)
#3: Stays on thru lots of sweating

I need someone to help me by suggesting some brands that I should try. Please, please, please help!

I would check out MAC's double Blush. I think there's a few left on the site. Not 100% sure. You can also check nordstrom.com and macys.com. You can also try a few stores near you. These are great for building color.

Nars also has very good blush!

You might want to check out Milani to!!

Good luck on the search!

I recommened anything Ben Nye. The colors have a lot of pigment, plus they are reasonably priced. I'm wearing red from the Creme Rouge wheel right now (5 cream blushes for $14!). I ordered mine from fxsupply.com because I can use paypal. HTH!

Something I've also considered is using a deep, deep foundation color in place of blush. Just under my cheekbones & under my jawline.
Because the main thing that I'm wanting to achieve is a contour...a deep shadow...not necessarily a lot of color. (such as pink, red, or my current one, which is far too orangy/brown...MAC Sheertone Blush in Sincere. lol!)

Also, one more thing!

I have the MAC 168 brush that I use to apply my blush.
But! I was wondering if MAC makes another brush that's able to pick up & deposit more color. I like the angle of the 168 & the fact that it's so soft and great for blending. But I'd like to have one that's heavier duty, I guess you could say.

Anyone?

You might want to try MAC's #109 small buffer-type brush. I find that it is good for both cream and powder blushes. It picks up a lot of pigment and distributes it very percisely.

For contouring I also have to recommened Ben Nye. You can use their contouring compacts for a powder contouring shade (link below).

Or the cream highlight wheel, which contains both cream highlighting and contouring shades.

Kabuki style brushes are very useful for heavy application. I got mine off of ebay (link below).

You can also purchase all types of brushes inexpensively at Crownbrush.com

Nars blushers are particularly pigmented, but have the option of being applied sheerly too. The colour range is large too, so i'm sure there would be many that are perfect for you.

I sometimes use a deeper foundation in the same tone as the rest of my face, for contour purposes too, when I want to look like i naturally have perfect bone structure, hehe, and not add "colour" to my canvas. I find this works well, though requires a little bit more time due to the blending.

Laura Mercier has a product especially for this to work with the whole flawless face idea she seems to advise, that I myself am interested in checking out. It is called "face contour creator" and is used to "accentuate or minimise features by adding colour in strategic places". It sounds perfect! I would also suggest using a good highlighter to play with light and compliment your shading.
