Nailpolishes with multisize glitter? (Like Lippmann)

I am soooo in love with Ruby Red Slippers from the Lippmann special edition trio. But I am really not in to the two others, so I don't want to spend 35 dollars getting one nailpolish

So I'm looking for something similar even though it seems like on of a kind. It's not so much the colour that's important as the glitter and the sequins. I LOVE the different sizes of glitter and sequins in the nail polish and the effect it creates.

Does anyone know of any other nailpolishes with that sort of glitter in it?

Have you tried adding your own glitters to clear/translucent polishes?

It's a bit more hassle than buying glitter polish because you'll need to give it a good shake up before you use it everytime.

Those really cheap sets of glitters on ebay work pretty well for that, most are about $3 a set of 12 types.

However... LOTS of cheaper glitters will drop thier colours and go silver when immersed in nail polish, this will also tint the water the colour of your glitter.

If you want glitters which keep colour when immersed in polish, look for plastic based glitters in which the pigment is in the plastic rather than a colour coating on silver backing.

You need to take a close look at the particles side on, I know that sounds silly and impossible, but you'll notice what I mean if you have a look, you can see the difference between a tinted plastic and a coated plastic.

Do you have Hobbycraft in the U.S.? They do quite a wide range of quality glitters and sequins which from experience will keep colour in polish. They are intended mainly for kids to make Xmas cards, but you can bin the packagings!

The glitter WILL sink, it's inevitable, but the higher quality polish you're using the less this will happen, it tends to ALL sink in high acetone polishes, whereas in some brands it will take weeks to drop to the bottom.

Some of the China Glaze glitters have multiple sizes of glitter. Luna, Nova and Medallion come to mind. There are pics on my blog.

China Glaze is coming out with a glitter in the spirit of "Happy Birthday" for Christmas this year, although I don't think it has the same colours more red green silver holiday theme.

China Glaze Holiday 2010 Sneak Peek | All Lacquered Up

Looks lovely

You could always try to add some of your own glitter to a clear base as well-just be aware that some glitters will "bleed" their colour into the nail polish. **I just read what green said... so ditto

Also, it's not so much the price point of the polish that causes the glitter to sink but the consistency of it. Thin nail polish = glitter on bottom. Thick, more jelly like consistency = glitter is held throughout.
