Hey guys! I made my first Nars purchase the other day at the local Sephora; I bought the Blush/Bronzer Duo in Orgasm/Laguna and I have to say WOW! I absolutely LOOOOOOOOVE it! It performed much better than I'd anticipated it would! I'd heard the hype about Orgasm before, but I just didn't believe it; I was still skeptical even after I'd swatched the colors and made the purchase. It wasn't until yesterday when I tried applying it with my MAC #187SE that I saw the real results! It was gorgeous! The bronzer was great as a contour and it gave me this subtle bronzey glow, while the blush gave me this gorgeous aftersex flush! It was so pretty! And then not to forget, its texture on my skin was absolutely flawless! All I'd worn yesterday was some moisturizer, no primer, no tint, no foundation, no powder, all it had as a canvas was my bare skin and it performed effortly and flawlessly! It just made my skin look so smooth and feel so soft! I loved it! It's the best blusher/bronzer duo I've tried, most other blushes (ie. MAC, Lancome, Clinique, Estee Lauder, etc.) ended up looking LIKE blush on my skin and other bronzers tended to turn orangey/reddish, giving me this weird fakebake-like bronzey appearance.
After this initial experience with Nars, I have to say that I'm addicted now! I plan on extending my collection of Nars product soon, but I need your help! What products and colors would you suggest? I'm particularly interested in their blushes and lipsticks since I've heard generally good reviews about them, while mostly mixed reviews about some of the other products. I'm a NC20/NC25 from MAC, Medium Beige from BE, and a Warm-Fairly Light/Warm-Medium Beige from EM, with Dark Brown eyes (near-black), and Medium Brown hair with Blonde Highlights (I'm planning on dying it back to Dark Brown with Caramel highlights). I generally like softer shades of colors and I tend to stick with pinks, peaches, corals, nudes and beiges. I also have a question about the Striptease lipgloss, is the color highly pigmented, similar to the old Lancome lipgloss (it was the old brush applicator one before Color Fever, I believe it was Star Gloss, I think) as opposed to the MAC lipglosses which are generally less-pigmented? In a picture I saw of it on a model, the color is absolutely gorgeous! But the thing is that the model has very pale lips compared to mine, her lips look appear almost nude naturally, while mine are highly pigmented and is generally a pinky-rose to mauve color (numerous times when I wear clear lip balm or gloss I've been asked what color I'm wearing, and the color Siren from Lancome - Star Gloss was almost identical to my natural lip color, but it was about 1 or 2 shades lighter). Also I'm wondering if anyone knows of any colors from MAC that are similar or are identical to the ones used in this look? And how to achieve it particularly on an Asian? Thanks a bunch!
