NASCAR-Boogity Boogity....Lets Gooo Racing!

I never thought I would be saying this, but I went to a NASCAR race last night and had a blast! It was so fast and so loud (and I LOVE fast and loud). I was right off the track. My hair would blow in the breeze when the cars went by. I was that close! The race was about 4 hours. I watched them go around that track 400 times and wasn't bored once. They had some jets buzz the track before the game. More of the very fast and very loud. Overall, a seriously good time. You have to try it at least once. Go ahead, get your redneck on.

Some of the downsides of NASCAR:

*A multitude of big fat men with back hair and tattoos wearing tank tops.
*People can smoke in the stands. I think I lost about a month or two off of my life from second-hand smoke inhalation. I think the slight haze over the track was from smokers, not exhaust!

*Lots of drunken jackasses wandering to their cars the same time you are. I exchanged a few words.

yes im from ca. weekends i hang out with a bunch of truck loving drunk guys .. rebuilding engines.

I love NASCAR in person. My college roomies brother used to live in Charlotte and would get us tickets to the Winston Race every year. I think it's called something different now, since it's now longer PC to have a tobacco company as a sponsor. It's a blast!! The downside for me was always leaving dirty. The track grime would drift up on you in the good seats. The last time I went I thought I got an awesome tan, but turns out I was just filthy.

I used to go to school in Daytona Beach and Race Week was always crazy. It was like the whole town shut down for the races...the mall parking lot would be used as parking for the fans...the buses would be rerouted. I never thought to actually attend the races though, but it does sound like fun!

I've been to a few races, married to someone that is VERY into it too. Hubby used to race locally, but doesn't any longer. I tell you, the sound of those cars makes me get goosebumps. LOL!!
