nc/nw??

hey!

i recently noticed that my foundation is nc (i use studio tech nc43) n that my conceleor is nw (i use select cover up nw 35)..
does that make a huge difference? do they both have 2 b nc or both have 2 b nw???

if the colors work well on you, it really does not matter if it's NC or NW or how dark it is. a lot of us use concealers to cover discolorations, so it's likely you'll need a different color to neutralize the pigmentation. my foundation is NC 30, but i use NW25 for my dark circles and NC35 mixed with yellow color corrector for my acne scars

Like sleepyhead said, some people use foundation in whatever color. Then for concealor some people prefer to use the opposite shade (Nw to Nc, or Nc to Nw) because it helps neutralize the area, instead of matching it with the entire face. Some people even like to go a shade lighter as well, to give the skin a subtle highlight. Usually for concealing other than under eyes, you should use the same color as your foundation.

i am an nc 43 also and i asked if they always use an opposite color concealor for everything on the face and the mac ma told me that they only use the opposite color to neutralize under eye circles.. everything else like acne scars and stuff like that, they use the same color as the foundation

yah it does work 4 me, it does hide my under eye cirlcle and matches the foundation. i jst thot that mayb by mistake she gave me a nw insted of a nc! or that if u have nc foundation u have 2 have nc concealor! thanks girls 4 clarifying it up 4 me!

Concealer colors can be different than foundation ones
Alot of the time it all depends on the area you are using the concealer for
Alot of the time when I'm concealing under eye area on someone who is an nc base I'll use a nw concealer,and other way around nc concealer for someone with nw undertones

for me personally I can use an nc foundation but my undereye circles when there are blueish,if I was to put a yellow based concelear on top that would result in a grey/green circle,So i use a nw to warm it up and cancel out the blue

did i go too far into this ? hahah
