Need a 101 on Brushes - HELP!

As the title suggests, when it comes to what make up brushes are necessities, I'm completely stumped!!

Not to mention the many different kinds out there.. Admittedly I've never been a huge brush girl, I usually just use what brushes come with the make up, but lately I've found an interest in them.

I'm looking to purchase a whole heap of brushes (over time) but I want to know what to be looking for first, and what can wait.. So far the only two brushes I 'know' are the crease brush and the smudge brush.. :huh2:

So I'd like to start a thread that has all the brushes, your recommendations, and what they're used for etc..

HELP!

Well, I ony have 2 MAC brushes and just got them recently, but have already seen a huge difference with the way my eye makeup looks! I have the 217 and the 222. I use the 222 as my crease brush, blending as I go. It has a narrow head to allow for more control. Then I use the 217 to do my outer crease and blend everything out. Next on my wishlist are the 239 and the 227. The 239 is used for applying lid color, but can also be used to blend. The 227 is a fluff brush that I plan to use for adding highlights and blending my crease color into my highlight color. I am not sure that I am using them the right way, but I have seen a huge improvement since I started using good brushes. HTH!

I recommend the following brushes.

224: I use this for almost everything.
227: I love the way this one feels. Plus it's great for blending
249: I actually use this one to apply concealer and other things.
116: Love this brush for applying blush

i only have one upto now and its the 116 and it applies my blusher flawlessly! i really recommend it

129: blush & powder
190: foundation
208: brows & liner
213: fluff brush
222: blending (i like to use this brush to apply crease colour as well)

I recommend MAC's 187 brush for blush AND foundation! Best brush ever, imo.
