i guess by opaque you mean not shimmery/sheer colors, but a LOT of heavy color?

i guess my only advice [and this is coming from someone who likes shimmery a lot, haha] is blend reallly well, so you dont have stripes. don't pair it with too heavy of a lip, and don't go too ridiculous, because you don't want to look completely overdone, you know?

I'd say, use a base like Bare Canvas paint, then layer an eyeshadow wet and an eyeshadow dry on top (could be same or different color) and blend very very well so that it doesn't look chalky/built-up. Also make sure you line the eye, first with pencil and damp eyeshadow on top to give it intensity. I don't really use a base, I get an "opaque" look just with damp/dry eyeshadow layering, but most people like using them.

For an opaque look, I usually color my lid with a white eyeliner then pat my eyeshadow on top of that. MAC has one called Fascinating, which is nice, but I have just a cheap one and it works just as good.HTH!
