This is my first post btw so bear with me, and I hope this is in the right forum.

But I'm from Australia, and I am going to the US (Hawaii) next week. I want to buy myself about 10 eyeshadows to start off my MAC collection as the prices out here are just so rudely high! :crap:

I have brown eyes (almost hazel with yellow flecks), dark brown hair and light olive skin which tans. Colours I usually wear are:
* Beiges, taupes and bronze
* Green
* Violets and plums

I might splurge and buy a few so go nuts with examples please! Also how much do they cost over there $US?

What would you say the "must have" MAC e/s colours are?

I've aleady been lurking on the forums and so far I like the sound of
* shroom
* greensmoke
* woodwinked
* trax
* smut

You've absolutely got the right forum! Duh, just read that your colouring is fairly similar to mine, here are some of my suggestions:

Velvet Moss
Plum Dressing
Beautiful Iris or Parfait Amour
Sumptuous Olive
def Woodwinked
Sensualise if still available (LE but just released)
Inventive Eyes quad?

I love all of these except W'winked - it just doesn't work on my nw20 skin. Don't know why!

By the way, welcome to Specktra.

Woodwinked is so awesome. Mulch, Humid, Sumptous Olive, Amber Lights, Mythology and Shroom are great as well. You should consider getting a Paint. Stilife goes with pretty much everything.
