Need help with blending

How exactly do you blend?
Can anyone describe this.
I'm having trouble grasping this concept. Whenever i try to "blend" I end up erasing what I drew and making a big mess on my eyes.
Any help is really appreciated.

i'm curious too. whenever i blend, the color isn't as intense anymore. at least it becomes a subtle look, but when i want the colors bright, i blend and it subtles down.

There are plenty of threads and tutorials about blending on this site - those are just three I grabbed from the 'threads similar to this' display.

I also think blending is about having the right brushes. I bought a couple brushes from mac and I just put the eyeshadows on using those brushes and everyone says oh wow your blending is sooo good.

But, it's also about the order in which you place your eyeshadows on your eye.

I do my regular everyday makeup scheme regardless of color in this order.

Lid- Color 1
Crease to Beneath Brow- Color 2
Brow- Color 3
Serious Crease- Color 4
I know that I did no intentional blending. It was the brush.

But other times when like doing a horizontal colorscheme I have had to blend those colors together.

only blend where the colors meet. i use very small circular strokes. otherwise I lose pigment and end up looking too blended (aka muddy). a little blending goes a long way. so just start off blending only where the colors meet.

I always touch up the colours again after blending, making sure to add the e/s in the right place.
