Need help with smokey shadows

I love to do a smokey eye look but I am having some problems applying my eye shadow right. Normally when I do a smokey eye I just put one color all over but Ive seen girls wear 2, 3 or even 4 different colors to do a similar look and it looks so much better. I am going to list the colors I have and with that can you guys tell me what to use and where each shade should be applied. Also if you have any other eye shadow suggests to add to the shades I have for a smokey eye please list them. Thanks.

Should I be using anything as a base? Ive seen girls use a CCB like Dusk or a Paint like Bare Canvas.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest. If you want a blue smoky eye, use Contrast instead of Carbon or Black Tied. I also like to add just a dab of Electra on the center of my eyelid, blended out.

I would recommend using Urban Decay Primer Potion for a base.
