Needs Some Translation Help - Latin to English...

Hey beautiful people,

A friend of mine is getting a tattoo of a couple of Latin phrases, or at least he'd like to. The only issue is that he wants to make sure that the phrases he's put together mean what they're supposed to.

They are:

- spiritus securus
- intueor directus

I trust you all to give me the translation skills, those of you who have them, and thank you in advance!

p.s. Yes, I have tried various online translation sites

The first one says "spirit secure" or secure spirit, the second one seems something along like interior direct.. Im not sure how its used like in a sentence or what the meaning he is putting behind it. But thats a rough translation of the quotes. HTH.
