Nervous!

So, I'm about to have my demo interview and I am kinda flipping out! I've been doing stage makeup for professional theatre companies for 7 years now (Which is hard to do in new orleans btw because most of the theatres are community.) Anyway I have tons of customer service experience (I used to own my own business...) and I know I can do sales, but I've never had to sell makeup, and because of the hurricane, I lost all my makeup and because I also lost my business in the hurricane too, I haven't really been able to buy any new MAC. OH, I've also been on a national theatrical tour for 2 months so I now feel like I'm outta the loop on everything.... I don't know, I guess I'm just looking for advice, help anything from you guys. Yall are all awesome and incredibly (might have spelled that wrong) talented.

It's normal to be nervous! And they won't expect you to know all about MAC, though you may want to read up on the company's history on the website. Just remember to continually explain to your model what you're doing and why - i.e. This colour I'm putting on your eyes is really great for making blue eyes pop... a well defined brow helps frame your face... it doesn't have to be forced, but that's what MAC believes is good customer service - to not only show people the product but let them know why it's the right product *for them* and how to use it. You've got great experience so I know you'll be fine... and don't worry about not having a kit. You'll use things they'll provide to you.

Thanks maxcat. Also, I'm not sure if they are gonna have me do a face chart or not. If not anyone got any ideas for my model, she's fair but not ppp. shes got long black hair and green eyes..

Don't stress too much on what you are going to do on your model. Many places give you a look/scenario to do to see how well you follow instructions (as you would be doing with a customer). Mine was she was going to a prom and was wearing green.

AND the most important part is what MAXCAT said - talk and explain everything. They want to see you do that.

ANd don't be nervous and don't overthink it - you'll be fine ;-)
