I wanted to make a wearable daytime kind of smokey eye without being too dramatic, that you could still wear to the office (which I did.)

*claps* Thank you missch! I freaking LOVE your tutorials so can't wait to watch it! I've done a similar eye--I love how mothbrown turns purpley with a pink tone!

i always appreciate neutral looks as i'm gearing up for an office job and won't have as much freedom to wear whatever colors i want like i did in grad school.

i love your videos so keep them coming!

i would also love to see a neutral look with eye shadows from the regular collection and not LE's -- since i'm a newb and missed a lot of the special collections.

Yeah, I try to give suggestions for permanent colours where I can. For this one you can substitute Mothbrown for Satin Taupe which is in the perm. line, I've done this look with Satin Taupe a few times before. Neutral Pink is a harder one to dupe exactly, but you could use any medium non-glittery pink or mauve shade for it as well.
