New Color and Cut

She gave me top layers, leaving my length and blonde highlights with two tone color using Paul Mitchell Pigment (it was bright orange and now it's toned down to my natural strawberry blonde), and touched up my black. Before I had one-length burgandy hair, so it's a big change for me! I'm still not used to it...what do you guys think? ( I know I look like I have no chin, and my cat looks crazy in the background but focus on the hair!)

Thanks for your honesty, I really appreciate that! It's a really big contrast between the hair colors, which I like, but the black does kinda look out of place. I'm trying to decide now if I should chop the length off...It feels a bit too mullety.

Personally I dont think that the cut looks Mullety...... "not in the least bit mullety"

You have layers point blank... give ur self some time to get use to the cut and color...

The color contrast looks beautiful on u. love the lighter top and darker bottom.. i think it suits u very well...

I have layers very similar to ur layers i must admit its a pain to style at times but the pay off is beautiful....

anyhow im going on and on about nothing..

Nikki, I am glad you don't feel offended. You're right, the black curls look "out of place" - I just didn't know how to express that in English properly. But the rest of your hairstyle is lovely. How did your hairstylist do the curls - are they permanent? And by the way: Which haircare products do you use? Your hair looks so voluminous and glossy, that's really amazing!

Do you have any natural curl? How long is the back? The only reason I ask is I am trying to grow out layers...and Bettie bangs...with curls. Trust me, I get a mullet when it rains! lol! If I have it cut with no layers, I get the awful 80's triangle. If you have natural curls and have no layers, it might do that!

Mullety bahahha I had a super good laugh over this word ( I don't know why).

I agree the black looks out of place but I LOVE the top parts, the colours looks really well done and it suits your look!!

oh! i love the black curls. super-cute. I used to have similar color with red-orange on top, and black on the bottom (but i can't do the cropped bangs-no matter how much i want them, i've got too much forehead).

seeing this makes me want to go back to these colors. i've got hair envy!

Gosh, danke everybody! I ended up cutting the longest layers off to get rid of the mullety feeling, and it's so much better! Now I can flip it out all cheerleader-ditz style, curl it all vintagey or get it to look super edgy by straightening it! Before it was just SO hard to style. I do miss my one length cut though, now THAT was easy to style...and I kinda miss the deep raspberry color

. But I'll leave if for a little while, just to get some use out of the money I spent. Ever feel a little bit insecure with a new hair color and shorter cut?
