New MUA query about mac eyeshadows

Hi, I am a new MUA and would like to know what eyeshadow products to start of in my kit. Do I use the loose pigments or the pan eyeshadows and for the pan eyeshadows I do not understand the different finishes eg lustre, veluxe pearl. Can someone give me suggestions of eyeshadows to start my kit with I will mainly be working with women of color.

go with the regular shadows to start your kit. after awhile, once you get your kit going, then branch out and get a few pigments that you can experiment with.

as for choosing colors, it depends on what you will be doing makeup for. weddings, prom, other events, everyday looks? if you're doing more weddings and everyday looks, go with more neutrals and a few softer colors (browns, soft plums, olives), but if you're doing more fun makeup, then that's when you can really play (bright colors, smokey colors)!
