I'm a long time Cosmetologist and I recently started doing make up. The salon that I work out of is in Roscoe Village( North side of Chicago) in Chicago,IL. I just got a client (who comes in once in a while, is never on time, and always wants to pay less) ask me how much I would charge to drive to Alspin, il, to do three make up applications for bridemaid, and one make up application for a bride? I told her I would charge her .55 per mile, $35 per bridemaid, $45 per bride. She told me that was too much. After reading comments on how much other people charged, I know I undercharged. I just want to know for next time, how much should I charge? Per mile? Also, I recently went to a MAC bridal class and the make up artist said it is always best to do a contract on how much is going to be charged. Problem is how do I know how much to charge per eye make up, blush, lip stick, etc. any extras?
