Hey guys

So, I'm moving soon, and need a new wardrobe. I don't have endless amounts of money to spend, so I just wanted some advice on where to start! Shopping frightens the life out of me and I usually end up with some black (it's always black) piece of clothing that I'll never wear.

So help me out on

- The basics, necessities for every wardrobe.
- Some tips for general style and fashion - I'm clueless!

I'm in the UK, for reference.

I can't help where to buy but i could give you a list of basic items to have that you can always mix with new season items?? It depends your style, age lifestyle too i guess but;

Dark wash jeans (pref straight or bootleg)
dress pants
Black pencil Skirt
White button down shirt
white boyfriend style shirt
Trench coat
Leather jacket
Black dress (if its kind of plain you can always 'jazz' it up with accessories)
A daytime dress
Black pumps
a pair of black flats
basic style tops and blouses (straight colours)
a black and a brown bag

then each season you have something to work from and add accessories to, like scarves, jewelery, hats, tops, leggings/stockings, bags ect HTH??

I agree with everything Brie said. I'd also like to point out how valuable accessories are. I'm addicted to accessories! My favorite is my new skull scarf! Love it!

I would also add a pair of metallic shoes (always neutral), and a suit (you can use the dress pants and jacket separately too). Since few of us are made of money, try starting at thrift stores. Crazy as it sounds, they usually have a good selection and you can find name brands at dirt cheap prices if you are willing to dig for them. Forever 21 also has a lot of basics for pretty cheap prices ($15-$25). Good luck!
