Newbie with a pigment question about making nail polish

I was just curious how much pigment you mix into nail polish to make a decent shade. I realize that it probably depends on how dark you want it to be and what pigment you use, but just a generality would be nice.

Oh and any particular brand of nailpolish? Or can it be any? thanks!

You can mix a pigment with any nailpolish, just make sure there's a ball bearing in the bottle to mix the pigment and polish well. Just add pigment little by little so you dont over do it and make the polish gloopy. For clear polish I just use Sally Hanson with Teflon.
