Hiya. Not only am I not new to the site, but I'm totally new to makeup and 'girly'ness at all. However, after deciding to see if I could improve myself one of the things I chose was to (I'm sure you're shocked) learn about makeup.
In a nutshell, all of my life, I've been discouraged or made fun of when I've tried makeup, so I refused to wear it for the most part (unless it was part of a costume for Halloween!). However, I am now with a wonderful man (whom I shall heareafter call The Mate) who encourages me in whatever I'd like to do, leaving me open to try new things.
So, armed with the advice of a friend, I ventured into the world of beauty, starting with a good haircut, and an eyebrow wax. The next day, I strolled into Macy's, and requested help, which I got. And it was GOOD help. I now own way more makeup than I would ever have thought (okay, yeah, it's like 3 products, but that's still more), and would like to learn more about how to use it to my advantage.
Other things about me... I'm 37, am usually involved with animal rescue in some way, and undergoing treatment for whatever thyroid issues they keep finding. The Mate is 15 years older, disabled, and quite into meteorology.
Umm, I suppose that is plenty to digest for now, so I'll just wave at everybody, and wander around checking things out.
