I would consider myself pretty oily and i have a hard time finding a foundation that lasts on my skin i have skin care items that work for me and a good primer. The problem is i could get a great foundation but not a great colour match. Im nc15, gobi in Nars Sheer glow, 117 in Mufe hd. Any recs would really help. Or any suggestions on how you look after your oily skin what primers maybe if i switch it up a bit?
Thanks

Ugh, I haven't found anything yet that I truly like.

But interestingly enough I read a comment on YT which said:

"If you are going to spend all that money on foundation because it performs so well, then why would you water it down with cheap stuff that will change it's formulation just so it last longer? I feel this is somewhat counterproductive IMO. You also have to be careful when mixing foundations that you mix formulations that are compatable, or else you can end up with a mess that separates all over your face."

It was a :O moment for me.

i am oily and I use Revlon Colorstay for Combination/Oily skin in Buff (you and I seem to be about the same skin tone) with the MAC prep N Prime Translucent Loose powder over it to set. I also use the MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation in NW20. They also have that in NC20. These powders tend to run lighter than the MAC studio fix fluid. I am NW15 in that. I find these two are the best options for me. I am hoping when the Pro Longwear comes out it will be able to replace my revlon just so i can use all MAC.

I use MUFE Mat Velvet and MUFE Duo Mat pressed powder overtop. Picture perfect skin, completely matte and it lasts! I used the MUFE primer, but it was too drying around my eyes and made my skin peel and crack. If anything, try the HD powder as a setting powder overtop the foundation and touch up your t-zone with the Duo Mat.

I started out using Lauder's Double Matte, but once I got my skin pretty much under control with skin care, it's less oily (though still very oily compared to the normal person's, just not producing enough oil to provide for the whole oil needs of a small country LOL), I've been using Lauder's Double Wear, which is oil free and long wearing (15 hours) with a matte finish. I use Lauder's Double Matte powder to touch up with 1-2 times through out the day.

Primers... I'm now using Lauder's Idealist, since it gives me to results of a primer (it has a smoothing polymer in it), but also helps to drastically minimize my pores, smooth my skin and helps reduce my redness. Before that I was using Lancome's La Base or Arden's Good Morning Skin Serum for a primer, but I figured it was better to use a product that gave me more benefits than just a plain old primer

Colorwise, I can't help you (i'm not very familar with MAC shades), but you can always stop at your Lauder counter to get matched and get a free sample

I use Bare Minerals Original foundation right now, but I'm getting the matte formula soon because my jar is running low. The original formula works surprisingly well for controlling oiliness when used with their oil control primer, but I've been curious to try the new formula for a while now

I have really oily skin (as well as acne-prone...DOUBLE WHAMMY!!!) myself, so I totally understand that finding a foundation that lasts AND helps to keep the skin matte is really hard to find.

A primer I really like is the Pur Minerals colour-correcting primer. It's the green one, which helps me with redness from my acne. I really really like it, because it doesn't contain silicone, so it won't irritate the skin at all or make it any more oilier.
Then I use the Cover FX cream foundation. I know, at first you might be thinking WHAT, a CREAM foundation for OILY skin?! BUT, it's such a nice cream-to-powder finish, and it's matte so you don't get any of that dewiness that doesn't mesh too well with oily skin types. As well, you only need like a quarter-of-a-pea-sized amount for your whole face, since it's such a pigmented foundation.
After using that, I just use the Powder FX powder foundation to set the cream foundation. It provides more coverage, and helps to set the foundation and keep you looking matte all day!

Edit: Oh yeah, the Cover FX line also comes in 30+ shades so you are bound to find the shade that matches you the best!

I have super oily skin!! I have yet to find a foundation that keeps me matte all day, but I have found 2 foundations that keeps the oil at bay for a solid 5 hours and trust me I have SUPER oily skin!! Even after the 5 hour mark I just have to blot and I'm good to go.

The foundations that work for my oily skin are: Dior Skin Forever and Lancome Teinte Idole Fresh wear. I am NC 30/35 for reference and I found that shade 030 in Dior is a good match, and I'm in 6W in Lancome. Both these foundations are AMAZING!!! If you're looking for something with medium to full coverage, go for Dior Forever. Lancome Freshwear gives a more medium coverage, but will cover any redness and covers my hyperpigmetation pretty good. Both these foundations are lightweight, and don't feel heavy on the skin at all.

I suggest giving these foundations a go, and I hope that you'll agree with me as well =D Cheers

MUFE Mat Velvet, applied with a damp sponge (this can apply heavy if not applied with a light hand).

I also like Revlon ColorStay in the Combination/Oily formula.

I get super oily and foundation runs because of it. The best combination I found is Hourglass primer + MUFE Mat Velvet + MUFE HD power. The HD powder is AWESOME for us oily girls.
