My skin is often really oily. I'd wash my face moist it where its all nice and "normal" until after an hour or two later its like melting butter on my face. In my teens I was lucky enough to have "flawless skin, no scarring, spots etc.. I seem to notice the random products i use doesnt really help remove blackheads or really keep my face clean.

My pores are really visible i do not have acne but i'm starting to break out easily. What type of products can I use to control the oil plus what routine and product is really good for my condition. I'm of African American decent.

Your skin issues are very similar to my own. I don't have a problem with spots or blackheads but my skin is oily and i noticed that my pores were becoming visible. I freaked out! I was on google and searching the forum looking for some magic pore shrinking product. There were some really good chunks of advice out there, the best being "drink lots of water."

That is one thing I have always been bad with... Hydration. I hardly ever drank water or any other liquids for that matter. So I started drinking it each day, starting off with a big glass in the morning and I tried to have a few more during the day at work. I have noticed a difference in my skin. mainly that the pores are not visible anymore.

As for skincare regime well I'd stick to the basics. Cleanse, tone, moisturize and treatment every few days (ie mask or exfloliation). I don't over wash my face, just twice a day and I don't use clay masks too often. I've learnt to just be happy with my skin! Sure its oily but thats what MAC Blot powder and blotting papers are for

If you want to try some good products I recommend LUSH. Head on over to the LUSH thread and read some great reviews and info by some of our members. HTH!

I usually have good results when I exfoliate regularly and use Bioperformance Serum by Shiseido.

Have you tried cleansing with oil? That's helped me more than anything. Plus, oil gets the gunk out of your pores resulting in less blackheads. I use cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil to cleanse. Hope I helped a bit.
