ORANGE lipstick?

Every time I visit my local MAC counter, I see these bright orange lipsticks, and I ask myself, "could I ever wear that?" but then I just tell myself no.
I'm generally a risk-taker when it comes to makeup and I'm sick of bright reds and pinks, So I think I'm finally gonna try it!

If anyone has worn orange lipstick before, what are some good shades?

Woo!! You rock that lipstick! MAC's Morange and Charismatic are great orange lippies. If you need to ease yourself into it you could blot it and use lipgloss to tone down the color.

I'm kinda afraid to use Morange not because it's a bold color, but I'm more afraid of how it will look on my skin tone. I'm an NC20(Studio Sculpt) are there any orange lipsticks that aren't quite as intense? or maybe one that's similar to the color in my icon?

I just purchased Vegas Volt (amplified creme) and applied with a neutral liner...it looks like a nice ripened peach. However, my son says that it looks like a mandarin...LOL

CB 96 (from MAC) might be more along the lines of what you are looking for, but I haven't swatched it in so long that I can't quite remember the exact color, it has more pinky tones to it than other oranges. The swatch on the MAC website looks pretty close to the orange lips in your icon.

slightly o/t. was it xsparkage who used orange lipstick as an undereye corrector? I think she used it to get rid of dark circles.. if you end up not liking it on your lips, you can just use it as a corrector

So far CB 96 and Vegas Volt seem the prettiest. I just found some pictures of them and they look perfect! Vegas volt isn't quite as orange as what I was looking for, but it's gorgeous anyway.

Has anyone tried meltdown?

cb96! It looks awesome on nc's and looks really cool with pink and purple eyeshadow if you are going for a bold look. It goes easily with neutrals too though, but it is bold. and a duochrome!

If you're a little afraid of hardcore bright orange, have you thought about Missy slimshine? It has a definite orange tone to it, but it's sheer enough to look natural.

meltdown is the only orange i own and I love it. try with utterly posh lip gloss.

I bought Vegas Volt, and it's pretty, but it's not enough of a yellow-orange like what I was looking for. Too bad I threw away the receipt and packaging already
