What is your general makeup routine and how long does it take you?

Mine is:
1. wash face....then sunscreen
2. powder on eyelids
3. paint/eye priner
4. eyeliner
5. shadow
6. curl lashes/mascara
7. concealer
8. foundation
9. powder
10. blush (not everyday)
11. lipgloss or lipstick if something special

This usually takes about 30 minutes

You should try switching a few things around.

Try applying concealer after your foundation. When you apply concealer first, you over-correct, and most of it gets wiped off by the foundation.

When you apply foundation first, you even out your skintone quite a bit, and will use less concealer.

Also, try applying your mascara after you have applied all powder products. If you put your mascara on before applying your face powder, some of the powder may get on your lashes and stick. If you apply the mascara last, your lashes will be dust-free.

Good call on the mascara....not sure why I didnt think about that before....I always have to reapply after I have my powder on, but I guess it was just a mindset to do the eyes altogether.

I used to put foundation on first until a MAC SA told me to put the concealer on first because it was supposed to be lighter and would look out of place on top of the foundation....I might switch it around again and see if it makes a difference. Right now I am using teh Age Rewind yellow concealer, so it might look a bit strange over my foundation :eek

Me:
well...I am not going to include shower time because that varies
so after washing my face in the shower
I wait 10 mins before putting on facial moisturizer then:

MoM for primer (wait til it's dry)
Foundation and setting powder (I use BE so my foundation is my concealer)
Bronzer
extra eye cream mixed in with my eye concealer
eye primer
brows
eyeshadow e/l etc...
mascara
lips
blush

I sometimes switch around the lips and blush but I always apply my blush after I am done w/my eyes.

Depending on how much detail there is on my eyes my rountine could take a little as 5 mins to as much as 45mins.

I like the order I have things in and I haven't changed it in years. Everyone has to do things with the way it works best for them

ME:
Cleanse face, put on moisturizer. Wait 10-15 minutes.
Primer
Foundation
Concealer
Bronzer
Eye primer
shawdows+liner
Brows
Mascara
Blush
Lips (or lips then blush, depending on which I want to focus on more)

If I want my lips to be the centerpiece, I do them first after foundation so I can keep my other areas (eyes+cheeks) toned down in comparison to let the l/s be the showcase and not look like a clown.
If I want my cheeks to stand out, I do them first and then my eyes+lips to keep them toned down blah blah LoL!
Usually it takes about 15 minutes for my everyday look, and up to 45 for a night out or a detailed one. HTH!

I have kind of a weird order, because, I don't know, I'm weird.

Wash/tone/moisturize, etc.
Foundation
Concealor
Powder
Eye Primer
Eyeshadow, bottom liner
Blush
Eyebrows
Top liner, if applicable
Mascara
Lips

I used to do my eyes before my foundation, etc., but I switched it around recently for no reason. Including the face washing, it takes me about twenty to thirty minutes, depending on the complexity of the eyeshadow.

This is the order I go in, I wash my face beforehand in the shower so I won't count that...
1. Concealer
2. Foundation and powder
3. Eye primer/paint/base
4. Eyeshadow/eyeliner
5. Mascara
6. Blush and pearlizer and/or skinfinish
7. Lips

It normally only takes me 10-20 minutes to do all this, unless I'm doing a complicated look.
