Just a random question...
Have any of you owned or own more than one of the same MAC eyeshadow and have them all vary in color?

I own THREE, yes, 3 stomp e/s! It's one of my favorite e/s and it's been d/ced for a couple of years now..and they all look different from each other..close in color but not quite the same.. so I'm just curious to see if anyone has seen this with other e/s? lol.

It's funny that you mention that. I have seen differences like that. But, when I pointed it out to a MA they looked at me like I was crazy. Hmmmm....ok.

Yeah, I have a lot of backups. It's not uncommon for colours to vary slightly. No batch is exactly alike. Also, with time the humidity and oxidation will affect the colour and texture of the shadow.

I actually have 2 e/s from Bloom that are like this. They are both Platinum. One I got as an individual pot, and the other one was in a palette. But one is more frosty.

Thanks for sharing this info! That makes perfect sense to me! I wondered about how can the same shadow look differently. Kudos!

You're welcome.

I guess I should mention that I assumed the OP was talking about unopened eye shadows. If any shadow has been used, factor in the additional elements of skin oil and bacteria (gross, but true), as they will affect colour and texture.

Which is also why it may look/feel one way at the store/counter and different when you get it home - none of that skin oil darkening it up!
